Every Burden Has a Version

Summary

Violet Murkowski rather repair her face with the lights turned off, the door wide open in an empty house. The frozen minutes are melting slow as she watches from the window. The street light's flickering like a tongue that can't stop licking, like the cat that got the cream. She's never going to be, she's never going to be quite satisfied.

Frank Iero smokes his smokes outside to avoid the fight. He’d rather be enjoying the silent stillness of the suburbs after midnight. What's the point? Don't try to hide, don't justify a thing. He's so naive to think he'd be capable, like the cat that got the cream. He’s never going to be quite satisfied.

After three years of guilt and not seeing her best friend Frank Iero, Violet Murkowski continues on with her promise she made to see him again in New Jersey for his twenty-first birthday. Old feelings are not only coming back to the exterior pore, but so is the culpability that she left behind. The question is brought back to life: can men and women be just friends without anything getting in the way?
