The anticipation of a perfect night
The Pre-Party
Gerard started heading out of the language section of the school and to the main hall, where all the senior lockers were located.
Frank was slowly walking back to the main hallway.
But since Frank knew that every other senior would try to get their stuff all at the same time, Frank would just wait a little longer, when the main hallway was a little bit less crowded.
When it finally was, Frank could basically be as loud as he wanted to. Even though every single senior tried to get all of their stuff at the exact same time, that didn't stop Gerard from going straight to his locker once the bell for 6th period rang. Gerard literally always rushed while Frank took his time, and that applied for everything. Frank was walking to the main hallway when Gerard was cramming all of his stuff into his bookbag. He was almost done packing when all of the seniors started to leave. Annoying seniors leaving was the perfect time for Frank to arrive.
Frank walked for another 3 1/2 minutes before he came into the main hallway. Just as he walked inside, the remaining seniors began to stare at him and tease.
"Watch out everyone, Frank the Midget Rebel has arrived!" said some douchey jock sarcastically.
Frank wasn't actually that short, he was at a normal height for his age. Frank ignored the comment and continued walking towards his locker. As he opened it and started packing, Gerard nervously walked up to him.
"Hey Frank, wanna come over later tonight and plan for tomorrow?" he asked.
Gerard became even more nervous as Frank slowly turned to him.
"Yeah sure, does nine sound good?" Frank asked calmly.
"Nine sounds great, do you need a ride home?"
"No, it's okay. My mom's picking me up. I'll get home slightly frazzled, but I'll be fine."
"Okay then, I'll pray for you." Gerard said ironically.
"Thank you, that will be necessary. See you tonight, Gerard." said Frank as he leaned in for a hug. Gerard gladly accepted it, but pulled away from it first because he was afraid Frank would feel how fast his heart was beating.
"See you tonight!" Gerard said as he started walking away.
Frank continued packing and eventually left to find his mom after another 5 minutes had passed.
meanwhile, Gerard walked to his car and started going home. he had a plan to finish all of his homework, clean up his room (not that it was actually messy), and shower-all before Frank showed up at nine o'clock.
He also had an entire plan for tomorrow night. Sadly, it's not the perfect, cutesy plan he had envisioned. He ha to make it more edgy to better suit Frank's tastes. With that being said the corsages were out....and so was the pre-prom Cheesecake Factory visit.

Frank sat in his mom's car, receiving another daily lecture from his mom. She was currently bent on how Frank stayed inside way too much and needed to get out more.
"Frankie, you can't just stay inside all day. You need to go outside and get some fresh air."
"Don't worry, Mom. Tomorrow night, I have plans. Prom plans." He emphasized.
"Prom?! But that's tomorrow, who are you gonna go with? Is there anyone you're going with? A special girl maybe?''
"No, Mom. I'm actually going with Gerard. We didn't have any date so I thought it would be a good idea to bring a friend with me, instead of just going alone."
"Well. that sounds like fun."
"Yeah, I'm going over to his house tonight to plan, we want to..um.. get ice cream before we... dance the night away!"
"What time are you heading over? If it's any later than eight can you just either take the car or have Gerard come pick you up?"
"Sure, I'll just call him or something."
"I don't care what time you come back. I know that he's a good kid, so anytime is fine. Just don't come back too late, it's still only a Thursday."
"I'll try not to stay at his house too late."
"Since you're not going to be with us, your sister and I will join your grandma for dinner tonight."
It was kind of a rule that if one of Mrs.Iero's children has plans that intercepted with dinner, they would eat at their grandparent's house, which was pretty close.

Gerard drove home nervously, the only thing to him that was better than the actual perfect night, prom, was the anticipation of a perfect night, the night before. Gerard lived for the planning, the prep, the pre-party. It made the actual party not seem as big of a deal. Plus, if you plan most of an event in general, people trust you with essentially the entire thing.
Since he had a headstart on the entire thing, this night belonged solely to Gerard. He was in control for the most part. He had everything worked out, from the outfits, to what time they were both leaving to make it to the dance on time. He had almost everything pre-coordinated, except for the dreaded prom photo. He had no idea whatsoever as to what he was gonna do for prom photos, or if he was even going to take prom photos at all. Out of everything, this was the only thing he hadn't ever given any thought to. This was bad, out of everything the photos always last the longest. If he didn't think of something-and soon, Frank and Gerard might end up with some crappy Prom photos for the rest of their lives. Forget monsters or being in public with nothing but your underwear on, this was a real nightmare. Eventually, everything else would fade away, but photo would last forever. Of course, this could all be diverted with a funny pose or just an actually decent picture, but still. Absolutely no thought in the slightest was given to the picture aspect of prom. And Gerard had been planning this night for years.
