Cemetery Drive

Ray sighed and slipped into the seat next to Gerard, spinning his friends chair to look at him.
"At his first school, he would come in everyday to find abuse written across his locker. 'Fag', 'emo', words like that. He ignored it, until his mother made him go to therapy, the therapist took advantage of Frank... it got out around the school, things went down and his mum moved him to a new school..." Ray watched Gerard's eyes drop to the ground. Gerard couldn't even begin to imagine how difficult it must be to live with that.
"At his second school, he decided to change his look. You know, new school, new start, new look. But that just simply made the kids dislike him. They called him 'emo', told him to die, things like that... he was found in the bathrooms hurting himself. He refused to go to therapy. His mum moved him again when they found him again carving 'emo fag' into his thigh.." Gerard shook his head, the thought making him feel sick.
"At his third school-" Gerard held his hand up to stop Ray, shaking his head.
"No Ray, I've heard enough. Please stop," He spun his chair around and started to tidy his desk up when Ray quickly spun him back round.
"His third school, his mum finally moved Frank to the same school as his best and only friend. They were inseparable. Two months after Frank moved to the school, he found his friend in his room, his wrists cut open. It was too late when Frank found him." Gerard gave Ray a pleading look to stop, but Ray simply shook his head and carried on.
"The other kids blamed Frank, they said his friend wanted to get away from him. He started to hurt himself again..." Ray looked at Gerard, who was staring at his hands, his eyes slightly bloodshot from trying not to cry.
"Then his forth school.." Gerard quickly cut him off.
"Ray, please just stop, please?" Gerard practically begged. Ray stood up and pulled some files out his bag.
"Read it for yourself, it's all written down," he dropped the pile onto Gerard's desk and looked at him, giving him a weak smile before leaving. Gerard sat staring at the files for a few minutes, too scared to read about Frank's forth school. He gulped and reached a shaky hand out to pick up the file. He flicked to the forth school and started reading slowly.

After reading it all, Gerard slumped back in his chair. Holding back tears, he gently dragged his hand down his face.
Suicide attempt? He honestly believed that suicide was the only way to stop the bullying.
Gerard shook his head and stood up, clearing his things into his bag and leaving. He drove home in complete silence, not even the radio on. Leaving himself to his thoughts.

This boy, this poor kid hated himself and everything around him so much he wanted out?
Gerard felt a slight string of happiness,
At least he didn't succeed... Maybe I should talk to him? He probably doesn't even want to enter my room ever again after the detention.
Gerard sighed, knowing he had completely fucked up any chances of him and Frank-

"NO" Gerard hit the steering wheel.
"No, Gerard, come on stop this, stop right now. He's your student and you're his teacher. It's inappropriate and you'd be taking advantage of him and you could lose your job," Gerard said to himself, almost like he was telling himself off. He groaned and rested his head on the wheel.
"But his eyes.. his hair, his smile... it's all too much, it's torture not being near him," Gerard pushed himself out his car and walked to the front door. He fumbled with the keys before shoving the door open. He fell onto the sofa, burying his face into a cushion.
"What the fuck is wrong with me?" he groaned to himself. What the fuck is going to happen tomorrow?
