Love and Bullets

Gerard and I talked for a little bit longer, mostly about music and old school memories. I even told him about the time I tried dying my hair red with kool-aid. At the time I thought it had looked really cool, but it was really unhealthy for my hair so I tried dye. But I ended up staining my scalp...But people at school still liked it. I just wish it had stayed in my hair for more than a week. He got a kick out of the whole kool-aid incident.

"Wait, you tried using a summer drink to dye your hair?" He looked at me as if I was crazy and started letting out throaty chuckles.

I felt my face begin to burn red. "Shut up!!" I said, trying to be serious but epically failing because I was giggling so hard. "It looked pretty cool..."

"Really? Got a pic?"

I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone. I scrolled through my photos until I found a photo of me with red tips. I handed him the phone. "See? It wasn't so bad..." It did look a little weird....Probably would've been better if I got a professional to do it.

Gerard chuckled and shook his head, then examined the photo for a moment. All of a sudden his face brightened and a sly grin was plastered across his face. "You're new nickname is Kool-Aid!" He chortled. " I'm sticking to that! I'm telling all the guys to call you that!!" He waved my photo around in victory.

"Oh, haha." I said sarcastically, trying to grab my phone back from Gerard who pulled out of my reach. "Gerard...." I whimpered.

He gave me a mimicking pouty face. "Aw, does Kool-Aid want her phone back? You'll have to catch me!" He jumped from his seat before I could say anything and jumped behind the couch. "Nana a boo boo Kool-Aid cant catch me!"

I stood up and crossed my arms and began tapping my foot. "You're such a child." I said, trying to sound annoyed. But I knew my face betrayed my feelings; I couldn't wipe off my smug smile.

For a moment our eyes locked, like two lions about to fight. So, he really wanted to go though with this? Fine. I swiftly ran to the back of the couch and jumped on him playfully, knocking him to the ground. I quickly pinned his arms down so he couldn't move. Just my luck, he had shoved my phone down his shirt. This might be a little tricky.

"Gerard...." I said, raising my eyebrows and trying my best not to smile.

"Kool-Aid..." He mimicked me, a smirk laced his face. He blew a piece of his black hair from his face. "What's on here that I cannot see?"

I rolled my eyes and lightly bunched his chest. "Oh, haha." I said, looking down at him. My hair fell at both sides of my face, so it barley brushed his cheeks.

For a few moments there was silence. Not awkward silence, just silence. I didn't mind it, I felt rather comfortable despite the odd position. Slowly, Gerard slid one of his hands from my grasp and brushed some of my hair from my face. I could feel my heart pounding nervously under my skin. Then, he lightly set a hand on my cheek and looked up at me. I could feel my face grow a little hot, as well as my hands.

"You have a nice face, Kool-Aid." He said softly, a small smirk plastered his face.

Before I could say anything, Gerard pushed me from him and rolled so he was on top. "Don't lose your guard with me." He said, chuckling.

I was chuckling now too, my face back to its normal temperature. "Okay Mr.Way, may I please have my phone back now?" I asked, making a pouting face.

"Only because you were so polite." He said, getting off me and standing up.

He extended a hand and helped me up, then gave my phone back.

"Thanks." I shoved the phone back in my pocket before he could take it again.

"Should we go see what the rest of the gang is up too?" He made his way to the door and opened it, waiting for me to follow.

"Sure."
