Counting Down The Days To Go (Frerard)

But You'll Be Faded Soon

"What the HELL is going on here?!"

Frank literally jumped off of me, landing on his feet with a thud. I saw his face for a split second, red with embarrassment. My head snapped to the general direction of the door and I propped myself up on my elbows to see who was there. Standing in the doorway was Frank's mom, her face just as red as my boyfriend's, but rather with rage.

"Frank!" she yelled, "tell me what is going on!" He cleared his throat, lowered his head, and looked away.
"Um, mom..." he said, his voice shaky. He didn't continue his sentence, just bit his lip. She stomped over to us and grabbed his chin, making him look at her.
"Frank Anthony Iero," she huffed, "What. Is. Happening?"
"We're dating, Miss Iero," I replied for Frank as I sat up.. "And I'm sorry, but shouldn't you be in hysterics that your own son almost killed himself?"
She scoffed. "If I'd known my son was fucking QUEER, I would've preferred he kill himself!"

Frank took a step back, away from his mom, his eyes widening. I could see tears already lining his eyes. "Mom, I--"
"No!" she interrupted. "I always knew there was something wrong with you, Frank!"
I stood on my feet, rage suddenly filling me. This is what, the third time we've been told something was wrong with us for being gay. Plus, she basically just said she'd rather Frank be dead than gay. "Miss Iero, let me tell you something." My hands balled into fists at my sides. "You are the one that has something wrong with them. You cannot beat your son, and be completely fine with the fact he NEARLY DIED and not be sick in the head!" I raised my voice higher than I intended, but didn't notice. "And there is nothing wrong with us for being gay! It's as natural for us as it is for others to be straight!"

Suddenly, she swung at me. I narrowly dodged it. It was not my intention to get in a fight. "It's wrong!" she yelled. "Men are supposed to be with women!" I opened my mouth to say something when she suddenly kicked me in the shins, making me stumble back a bit.
"Mom," Frank pleaded, grabbing my arm, "stop!"
"OUT!" she replied. "I WANT YOU OUT!"

Nurses suddenly flooded in, followed by two security guards. The officers came up from behind me and grabbed me by the arms. They started pulling me away from Frank and towards the door. Frank tried to follow me, muttering under his breath about his mom, when a nurse pushed him back onto the bed, the other ones surrounding him. He called out something I couldn't make out before I was pulled out of the room and the door was shut. The officers continued to carry me through the hospital, despite my kicking and thrashing about. We passed by a corridor that from which came from a familiar voice.
"Linds, the boy's awake!" an unknown voice said.
"What's his condition?" the voice I recognized as my therapist replied.
"He's fine. He keeps asking for some kid. Gerald, I think...?"
She hummed. "Gerard. His boyfriend."
"O-Oh," the voice stammered. "Anyways, we need an eval as soon as possible."
My attention was pulled away from the conversation when suddenly a blast of cool air hit me, and I was literally thrown out of the grasp of the officers into the pouring rain outside the hospital. "Fuck!" I hissed when I stood up. I hit my tailbone or something. I opened my mouth to say something when I was knocked over by a bag hitting me square in the chest, making me fall over again and nearly split my head open on the cement pavement.
"Until his mother gives permission," one said, a thick- German, I believe?- accent to his voice, "you are not allowed to set foot in this hospital."

And then they slammed the glass doors shut.

And then I laid there in the pouring rain, not really giving a shit I was getting soaked. The feelings inside of me were quite clashing; happy because Frank was alive and well, upset I got kicked out of the hospital and that his mom was terrible enough to say those things. Mostly happy, though. His birthday would go as planned.

I forced myself to stand up after an indefinite amount of time, the rainwater dripping from my clothes. My bag was a bit wet, but not enough to get to the inside. I swung it over my shoulder and started walking home. I got a few strange looks from people, but it couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

I softly shut the front door as I came inside, not wanting to disturb Mikey and the rest of our friends, who were sitting on the couch playing video games. Brendon was here too, and I didn't really want to face him if he was angry. But I was apparently a bit too loud closing the door, as Mikey immediately yelled out, "GERARD, CAN YOU GET US SOME NACHOS?" He paused the game, emitting a groan from the fluffy-headed one (Ray, I think?), and turned around. "Dude, why the fuck are you soaked?"
"I had tutoring. Lost my umbrella at school."
He pouted. "Fine. Change your clothes, then get us some nachos."
"We ran out of nacho cheese yesterday!" I called over my shoulder as I walked upstairs. The only response I heard was more groaning, then the game went back on.

I peeled off my wet clothes, throwing them over the shower curtain rod so they could dry, and changed into a clean pair of boxers and one of Frank's t-shirts he bought off of Pete with "FALL OUT BOY" hand-painted on it, and plopped down onto the bed. I rummaged around my backpack for a few seconds before pulling out my phone. I dialed a number I knew very well and laid down. I tapped my finger on my nightstand while the line rang. Eventually, the other end picked up, and the semi-deep voice of my best friend spoke into my ear. "'ello?"
"Patrick, I need--"
He chuckled. "The only time you ever call me instead of text is when you need something out of me."
"You know me so well."
"Indeed. What do you need?"
"So, this, regrettably, involves the newest queen of Belleville High hierarchy, what's her name--"
"Tiffany Blews?"
"Yeah, her. So, about her apparently annual Halloween party..."
