Counting Down The Days To Go (Frerard)

I Love You

"So, Mr. Way, these pills will help control the seizures, or at least we believe," Dr. Brown told Gee, and handed him an orange bottle filled with white tablets.
"... you believe?" he questioned, tilting his head a bit.
"Well, since you're still a minor, you have no choice over what medication you can and cannot take," she explained. "Your parents unanimously agreed on you taking a prescription drug that's still in trial phase, but has a 87.4% success rate on preventing seizures in patients of your exact situation, even those dying." Gerard slowly nodded, but I could tell her wasn't actually paying any attention. He handed the bottle to me and I slipped it in my jacket pocket. "Mr. Iero, please make sure Gerard takes his pills twice a day, one with breakfast and one with dinner, alright?" I smiled as a response.
"So, am I released yet or what?" Gerard asked impatiently.
"Yes," said the doctor. "Have a good afternoon."
Gerard hopped off his hospital bed and I took his hand in mine. Smiling, I led him outside the hospital room. "God, I hate the smell of hospitals," he muttered. I pulled him in for a quick kiss.
"What do you wanna do?" I asked him.
"I'm starving. Hospital food is disgusting."

"Gerard, can I ask you something?" I said, turning to him. We were sitting at a booth at McDonald's, munching on fries.
"Yeah, babe?"
"Why was Lindsey the only person allowed to see you at first?"
He gulped. "She, uh, she's not a psychiatrists for 'assholes at school' or whatever I said. She's appointed from the hospital to check on my and my family's mental health as we go through this."
"Oh."
"I'm sorry for not telling you, Frank. I was going to, but--"
"It's fine, Gee," I told him for the tenth time this morning. I really wasn't mad. Sad, yes, but not mad. It just made our relationship all the more special.
"Frankie, please let me finish." He gulped. "I wanted to tell you, but I was afraid of... of breaking your heart."
"Y-you care about me that much?"
"Of course, Frankie. I love you so, so much. And I didn't want to break your heart. I was afraid you would leave me."
"Gerard, I wouldn't have ever left you," I told him, and intertwined his fingers with mine. "I love you too much to do that." He smiled and pulled me in for a kiss. I obviously reciprocated, wrapping my arms around him as his tongue slipped in my mouth. After about 30 seconds, I pulled away. "We're in public, remember?"
He laughed. "I'm sorry," he jokingly whined, "you're just too beautiful for me to keep my hands off of you or my pants on."
"You dork," I muttered, shaking my head, and gave him a quick peck on the lips. I sat in my seat next to him and took a minute to look around the room. We were sitting in the very corner, so we could see pretty much anyone. Standing a few feet from our table, trying to usher out her daughter, was a woman. The girl couldn't have been more than 5. Said little girl was staring at us, curiosity in her eyes.
"C'mon, let's go," the mom repeated, trying to push the girl away and out the door.
"Mommy," the girl started, "can I talk to those two boys?"
The mom winced. "Those gays? No."
However, the girl ran from her mom and over to our table, her brown, curly hair bouncing with every step she took. "Hi, I'm Grace!" she told us, smiling.
"Hi Grace," I said, "I'm Frank."
"I'm Gerard."
"Can I ask you a question? Pleeease?"
"Well, since you were so nice as to say please, sure!"
"Why did you two kiss?"
I turned to Gerard, biting my lip in thought. It is, honestly, kind of hard to explain homosexuality to children. I turned back to Grace. "Well, me and Gerard are dating. Do you know what that is?"
"I do! But, you're both guys! Isn't it supposed to be a girl and boy?"
Gerard answered this time. "It's usually a boy and girl. But, sometimes, a boy will love a boy, or a girl will love a girl. It happens all the time."
She nodded. "Ok, I see now!" She looked between him and me for a second. "Are you two going to get married?"
I laughed and looked at Gee out of the corner of my eyes. "I don't know, maybe!" His face became a shade of red close to his hair and he chuckled. Suddenly, the mom came stomping over and grabbed her daughter's hand.
"What are you two doing, filling my daughter's head with this shit?"
"Um, ma'am," I started, slightly offended, "One, you shouldn't cuss around your children--"
"Don't tell me what to do! Answer my question!"
"Your daughter asked, we answered," Gerard said simply. "We're not 'filling her head' with anything."
She scoffed and muttered under her breath, "fags are disgusting."
Gerard stood up, his fists clenched. "Our love is no different than that between a girl and a boy, what is your problem?"
"Your problem is that your relationship-- if it can even be called that-- is a sin!"
"A sin?" he hissed. "You're getting that idea from a book written thousands of years ago?"
"Gerard," I whispered, squeezing my eyes shut, "don't start anything." But he didn't hear me.
"I'm done with people telling us our relationship isn't right, that it's sick, a sin! I LOVE HIM, is that enough?!"
"Grace, let's go," the woman muttered to her daughter and began to pull her to the door.
"You homophobic bitch!" Gerard yelled at her. I stood up and pulled Gerard into a hug, trying to calm him down. "I'm sick of it, Frankie," he whispered, "I love you. That's that. There's nothing wrong with it."
"Uh, sirs?" a voice called behind us. We turned to see a girl, not much older than us, in a McDonald's uniform. "I have to ask you to leave for that outburst."
"Wh--"
"Now."
The girl literally pushed us out of the building, slamming the door behind her as she went inside. The second the door closed, I began to crack up.
"Frankie? What's so funny?"
It took a few seconds after his question for me to catch my breath. "Do..." I took a deep breath to calm myself. "Do you realize we just got kicked out of a McDonald's?"
He began to laugh as well. We stood outside laughing for a few minutes, probably looking like drug addicts to any passerby. I wiped the tears forming in the corner of my eyes and took another deep breath. Suddenly, Gerard pulled me in for a hug. "I love you, Frankie," he muttered.
"I love you too, you dork." I sighed. "I'm bored now."
"Yeah, me too."
"Park?"
"Hell yeah."
"Frank?"
"Yeees, Gee Bear?"
"I love you."
"You've been saying that so many times today," I told him, "what's your problem?"
"I like saying that. I like being able to call someone mine. I also love how when you say it back, how it sounds in your voice."
"You're getting all sappy!" I said, and turned on my side to face him. He was smiling the widest I'd seen in a while, staring right back at me. "Fiiiine. I love you, too."
He giggles like a little schoolgirl before jumping of me, kissing me. I melt into the kiss and run my hands through his matted mess of hair. My fingers begin to pick at the knots in his hair and he laughs into the kiss. He tugs on my lip ring a bit, eliciting a moan from me, giving him an opportunity to explore my mouth with his tongue. I wrap my arms around his waist, pulling his body closer to mine. His kisses trailed from my mouth to my jaw to my neck, him eventually settling on a spot between my neck and collarbone. He sucked on it before biting it and drawing a bit of blood. I gasped and felt him smile against my skin.
"You know," he murmured, "I've always wanted to do it in a park."
I felt heat swirling in my cheeks and my breath hitch in my throat. I would love to do this with Gee, but, in a park? But, I said I'd make the most of his next few months. The sun was almost completely set, anyways, so it's not like anyone would see us. "F-Fine." He lifted his head up.
"Frankie, if you don't want to, you don't have to. Don't say yes because I'm dying."
"I wanna do this with you, Gee. Besides, I think the thrill of being caught may be turning me on." He chuckled and picked me up bridal style. "Behind the bushes wouldn't be too obvious, would it?"
"Hope not!"
