Vampires Will Never Hurt You

You Won't Feel a Thing

You Won't Feel a Thing

Gerard placed a friendly and comforting kiss on my forehead and made his way to his bedroom, closing my door behind him. I built up my composure and finished the last of my tea, scrunching my nose in disgust because it was now cold. Sighing deeply, I prepared myself for what I may find still waiting in the bathroom for me. I slowly turned the doorknob and pulled the door open, walking across the hall into the bathroom where my back pack and make up remover was still sitting, undisturbed. But no Frank. I began to gather all of my stuff, shoving everything into my bag as quickly as I could. I didn't want to be in this room any longer than I had to be. I quickly scrambled back across the hallway to the room I was going to be staying in and saw Frank sitting on the side of my bed, analysing his knuckles which had the word 'HALLOWEEN' tattooed across them. He changed out of his skeleton costume into a pair of black skinny jeans with torn knees and a blank white shirt underneath a black hoodie. He looked up at me when I quietly closed the door, the room suddenly grew dark aside the moon shining through the open blinds. Remaining where I stood, we locked eyes for a couple of silent moments.

"Frank? Is that really you?" I asked. He smiled a genuine smile and stood up next to the bed.
"Yes," he almost whispered, taking a step forward.

The moon shining in through the blinds lit up his lip and nose piercings as he continued to smile. Without a word, he turned sideways and took a step back, revealing the little white sheep he had won for me on our first date. He had sewn our initials; F.I + J.S onto the sheep's left hoof. My heart was beating a millions times faster than it should. I wanted to turn on my heel and run of the room and continue running until I got stitches in my side. But I couldn't move. Frank's smile grew wider, turning my knees into jelly; I couldn't help but smile back at him. Without any word I gathered all of my strength and ran towards him, clamping his neck in a suffocating hug. He chuckled gently and wrapped his arms around my waist, slightly lifting me off the ground. As much as I loved Frank's hugs, something was different.

"Why are you so cold?" I asked, my voice muffled by his shoulder.
"No body heat, I'm dead," he laughed.

That's when I noticed he wasn't breathing and he didn't have a pulse. This made me slightly uncomfortable. We sat down on the side of the bed where Gerard and I sat earlier, completely facing each other. He held both of my hands in his. He began to explain everything that Gerard did earlier, but in much more full detail.

"Vampires can physically pass as regular human beings," he said. "Our fangs are retractable! The only differences are our pale skin which makes us look British," he chuckled, "and the darker shades of our eyes. But no one really seems to notice that, to be honest," he shrugged.
"I still can't believe it. After all of this time, you can still be with me," I smiled.
"May I stay the night?" He smiled.
"I would really like that," I replied and kissed him on his cold lips.

♣♣♣♣♣

We were both standing in front of a long mirror in a dark candle lit room, our reflections staring back at us. I was dressed in a beautiful white night gown and Frank was in black pants with a white dress shirt and a red tie. His black and red eye-liner outlined his almost black hazel eyes and his nose and lip piercings glowed in the dim candle light as a malicious grin grew upon his face. He stood behind me, his arms tightly wrapped around my waist making it extremely difficult to get away. While kissing the left side of my neck, his ice cold lips sent little shock waves throughout my veins. He occasionally looked up at our reflections through his hair, his grin widening into a satisfied smirk the more I attempted to squirm out of his grasp. He finally stopped kissing my neck and turned my body so I was facing him and held me at arms length. His pleased grin faded into a mocking pout as he fluttered his eyelashes in innocence.

"What's wrong? You're not afraid of me, are you?" he smirked. He leaned his face in closer to mine.

My muscles tensed as I guessed what was going to happen next and my knees gave out in total horror, causing me to fall. But Frank caught me and held me up; making it almost impossible for my feet to touch the ground. My breathing was getting fast and I began swinging my feet, searching for the ground. He opened his mouth widely so he could laugh, revealing his large canine fangs protruding from his gums. I shrieked in terror, but I was interrupted by his cold lips colliding into mine, muffling my scream.

"Don't be afraid, I'm only doing this because I love you," he whispered, once the kiss broke.

He smiled one last time, a mixed smile. His eyes filled with pain and regret, but his lips held a hint of pleasure and happiness; a smile I hadn't seen in a very long time. As I was reading his expression, I understood now why his eyes were filled with pain and regret. I gave all of my strength to struggle out of his vice grip and I gasped in horror as I felt his fangs pierce my skin and sink into my neck. I began to feel weaker, and eventually falling limp in Frank's muscular arms.

When I woke up with a twisting stomach, I noticed I was still in the guest room of Gerard's bungalow. I sat up and looked around the room, letting my eyes adjust to the darkness. The moon was no longer shining in through the blinds. 'It was all a dream' I thought to myself. Laying next to me, wide awake was Frank. He lay on his back with both hands under his head as he stared up at the ceiling. He rolled his head to look at me, his lips forming into a smile.

"Are you okay?" He asked. I bit my lip.
"Yeah, just a nightmare." He frowned.
"What about?"
"Clowns were chasing me," I lied.

I laid back down and rolled onto my right side. He encircled me in his cold muscular arms, spooning me. Pulling me closer to his cold chest, chills ran down my spine. A dream like that, I couldn't shake off.
