In The Mourning
Part Six
I was looking like a couch potato when Rebecca told me that Frank is coming over. I know mummy wouldn't like this but what the hell, two weeks of not talking to Frank made me anxious to see him. As much as I hate looking forward to whatever it is going to be, I ran upstairs and asked one of the helpers for help.
"What's with the rush, Miss Blair?", one of the helpers named Beatrice, asked. She was around mummy's age, maybe older but she was the one who was there when mummy wasn't.
"This guy is coming over, I am not sure whether he wants to pick me up and go have dinner or stay in but mummy would kill me if she sees him. Not the type of guy that mummy would approve", I replied while throwing few tops on my bed.
"Miss Blair is nervous?", she asked again.
"Yes, Beatrice.", I replied.
"But I have not seen Miss Blair go out on dates for almost two years now. So busy with med school. Barely have time for boys.", she smiled while folding another piece of my top.
I quickly changed into a white sequinned sleeveless and faded blue jeans.
"Here", Beatrice handed me a pair of metallic black flats.
I kissed Beatrice cheeks before heading downstairs. I was nervous. My hands were clammy again and my heart was beating fast. It felt like the first 'date'. Not sure if it was, until now. When I came downstairs, I saw Frank sitting in the living room. He was talking to Rebecca. Rebecca looked calm this time, I guess she was getting used to the fact that My Chemical Romance is becoming one of her friends. That thought made me smile.
"Hello Blair", Frank stood up while holding a bouquet of yellow peonies. He slowly handed it to me and smiled. Rebecca was smiling too.
"Hi Frank. Yellow peonies, my favorite.. How did yo-", I looked at Rebecca. It was her idea, she was behind this after all.
"Thank you, Frank and Rebecca", I continued.
"Frank gave me an autographed copy of The Used, 30 Seconds To Mars and Pierce The Veil's albums!", Rebecca enthusiastically said.
"I realized I didn't give you any present for your birthday. Figured you'll like these bands.", Frank said.
"That's nice sweetie.", I told Rebecca.
Frank looked calm. He was smiling every now and then and I couldn't help but to love his smile. Rebecca left the two of us in the living room.
"What brought you here?", I asked.
"I just finished the 2nd leg of the tour. Now I have 3 weeks break before the third leg starts. Our last stop was Brazil and all of us were going back to New Jersey.. Then, I realized I was missing this girl. I remember her asking me to not contact her again but I couldn't help myself. I want to get to know her more, I need to get to know her more", Frank responded.
"Wha-"
I could feel my knees were turning into jell-o and the urge of just kissing him right there and then was strong but Frank continued his speech.
"Blair Waldorf, will you go out on a date with me tonight?", Frank asked as he held my hand and squeezing it slightly with his palms.
I knew I should have asked about his 'reputation' with the girls and I knew I had to make him clarify some things to me but I didn't care, as much as I have been denying Frank, I missed him too. I just said yes, without thinking twice. I was feeling like a seventeen year old when her crush finally asks her out.
I got into Frank's SUV and we were holding hands all the way.
"Where are we going?", I asked him.
"Stargazing.", he replied with a smile.
"Look at the backseat", he added.
I turned to see his backseat and saw a picnic basket and two grocery bags of junk food and bottles of water.
"So we are going to have a picnic, at night?"
He nodded.
We arrived at a park, I wasn't sure which park it was but I was sure that I have never been there before. I could hear the buzzing sound of crickets and splashing of water in the pond every now and then. The fishes were jumping in and out of the water. Frank laid a blanket on the grassy ground and put the picnic basket at the edge of it. I carefully watched him as he sets the place.
"I wasn't sure if you are a vegan, just like me or if you eat only fruits or non-vegetarian... So I brought all the types that I figured you'd eat", Frank said while laying out the food that he bought.
I laughed hysterically when I saw the amount of food that he had with him. Chicken pasta, sushi, pizza, salad, sandwiches. It was like we were having a party for ten people.
I was about to stop laughing when he took out different bottles of drinks. Wine, beer, freshly squeezed juice and sparkling.
"Frank, you know you didn't have to do this?", I asked.
Frank pulled me beside him and replied, "I know, but I want to. A girl like you deserves a whole lot more"
