In The Mourning
Part Twenty
My words broke Blair. The only reason I went missing was.. I didn't know how to tell her because no matter what happens, I will end up losing her. I just figured if I tell her the truth, maybe she would find some grace to finally forgive me. She didn't say anything to me. She looked puzzled and her tears were streaming down her face.
"How long were you with her?", she asked slowly.
"Five months, Blair"
Blair took a deep breath and wiped away her tears. I didn't know what to do. I was just as puzzled as she was.
"I want you to tell me everything, Frank. Now. I don't care how much it will hurt me but I want to know everything, now."
I bit my lip and said, "I met her at a concert. I was lonely as hell, Blair. I was stupid and immature. It started off as a one night stand and I met her again at a bar. We started hooking up and things got.. complicated. I wasn't seeing her exclusively but she was there. I just needed someone to be there for me but I never really wanted to be in a relationship with anyone. Things were already fucked up when I met you. After I met you at Becca's birthday, I thought that would be the last."
I paused. I was waiting for Blair's reaction but she just asked me to continue.
"And then somehow, she gave me your number and I asked you out but that night, Bob was already hinting about me. I was upset that night and when I got home, Luna was there.. Packing her stuff. She was moving out from my house and I don't know what happened, but..."
Blair covered her face with her hands and wiped the leftover of her make up.
"Look Blair.. when it happened.. I didn't expect we'd end up together. You came into my life at the most unexpected time. I was sleeping with different girl each night and when you came, you made me feel like I need to change to become a better man. You changed me, Blair. I left my old ways when I met you. I am so sorry, Blair"
Blair kept quiet for ten minutes before finally standing up. She walked to my seat and pulled me up..
"Frank.. I can see how much you've changed but your past is catching up with you to make its way into your future and from what I can see, I can't be in that future. Not with you. I am sorry, Frank.", she said.
Blair held my hands and looked at me. Her make up was already ruined and her eyes were red and puffy. She bit her lips and kissed my hands.
"Goodbye Frank."
Blair let me go. It was like thrusting a rusty dagger into her heart before twisting it twice.
I destroyed Blair.
