The Boy In The Skeleton Pyjamas.

The Girl Hiding Behind Her Notebook's Words.

*Tula's POV*

'The ward was pretty quiet today' I paused, biting the end of the biro pen.
It was hard writing a diary when you have to stay inside all the time and have no one to gossip with.
I used to have people to talk to, I used to have friends. They were good friends, forever telling me that they loved me, they went shopping with me, came to my parties, complemented me, made me feel generally special. I felt blessed to have them.
But I guess when you get some stupid illness and they can no longer come round to your posh house, they don't want to know. (Yes, my family have quite a bit of money, but that shouldn't affect your friendship.)
I guess it's times like this when you find out who your real friends are, shame I don't have any.

'Oh, someone just entered the room,'
I put my journal under my bed and looked at the boy properly, he was very good looking, angel-like even. But he was sick, you could see it in his eyes, I could see it wasn't a physical thing, like mine. This was something in the mind. He turned round, his eyes were a piercing shade of green, they were beautiful, looking like they held something deep, they were painfully gorgeous.
His cheek bones where pointy and defined, his chin stuck out a little.
And as for his nose, well, I didn't even think noses could be beautiful, but his was.
I felt a bit creepy assessing him like this, but I knew I'd have quite a while to look at him, because a nurse was setting him up a hospital bed right opposite mine. He looked at me, right in the eye. My heart fluttered and I looked down quickly, hiding my blush. How was I going to have him opposite me for who knows how long, staring at me like that? This was stupid, I shouldn't have a crush anyway, we were only all going to die in the end, some sooner than others, and I had a feeling I was gonna go first.

*Gerard's POV*

"Hiya, I'm Natalie, your nurse" she beamed at me brightly. I didn't really feel up to smiling, but I gave it a try anyway. 'Manners get you everywhere.' My grandma used to say. I was scared though, if I was brutally honest, I was gonna miss my mom, I know I'm a sixteen year old boy, but Im not exactly sociable, and everyone here was a new person.
Mom said she couldn't stay with me, as much as she wanted to, but she has to stay with my little brother Mikey, he's only thirteen and he's timid and lanky, like an awkward giraffe or something, everyone loves him, but you can't leave him alone. Like a loveable family pet, he gets anxious without the people he loves.
"Is this bed okay? I'll just bring you some blankets."
Nodding, I looked around the room, it was bright, and fairly big. It was long, almost as if it had an aisle down the middle, I noticed a girl sat in a bed, with her head down, a note book perched in her lap as her knees held it up and gently brushed her head. I wondered why she was so scrunched up, almost hiding, she must be shy like me.
Her hair was a light shade of caramel brown, and she had tied it up in two messy braids. I wondered what she was doing in her notebook, whether she was drawing or writing. I wished I could see her face.
"Okay Gerard," the nurse came into the room, dropping an armful of blankets onto my new bed. "Have you got something to keep you entertained?" "Yeah," I said, gesturing to my notepad, I saw the girl across the room look up interestedly, but when I turned to look at her she looked down again, blushing shyly, I didn't get a chance to see her face this time either.
"Good, there's a TV right here if you pull it from behind the table, the control is in the drawer and the headphones are attached to he TV." I nodded, trying to make it look liek i was taking it all in. "will i have to change into a gown or something?" I asked Natalie, she smiled and informed me that "As this is the long stay teenage ward, you don't have to change, but comfy clothes are advised."
She then smiled brightly before leaving the room. I climbed into the bed quietly, lifting out my notebook and placing it on my lap. Without meaning to, I began to sketch the girl across the room. It wasn't obvious that it was her, because I couldn't see her face, but it was her huddled figure, the notebook cradling her knees, with patterns and ideas coming out from the book, although I had no clue what was in it.
I wondered to myself why she was here, she couldn't have anorexia, she wasn't fat, she was the perfect weight for a girl her age, I don't know what it could be, I thought about asking the nurses tomorrow, they won't tell her I was asking about her, will they?

Notes

Hope you like it.:3 Sorry my chapters are a little short. I'll work on making them longer.

@TBPAlterEgo
Maybe once I'm finished with Shadows You Left Behind I could re-do this story more realistically, but I hate it at the moment. xD I might do. Thank you! :D
