You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison

In The Center Of A Restaurant

I thought I was going to die of starvation, the walk there and back seemed to take forever. This prison is massive, you could easily get lost in all the rooms this place has. At least Ray agreed to take us to get some food before taking us to our cells. I knew Mikey thought the same thing when his stomach started screaming at him, and we all laughed it off.

The mess hall was actually big, thank God. There were at least thirty tabled spread out evenly across the floor, with a big line of food with three or four kitchen staff manning the station. There were only a few people left eating, I guess dinner had already ended.

“Well, this place is just exploding with enthusiasm, isn’t it?” Mikey rolled his eyes, hinting at the serious lack of color in the room. Even the food lacked vibrancy, it looked pretty pale and bland from what I could see. Guess I’d be losing some weight during my stay here. Not that it was a bad thing, I needed to shed a few pounds anyways.

I took a few steps forward and turned my head, making sure Mikey was following me. He stayed close behind me, still looking around the place like he was looking for something. Not something, someone. The thought itched in the back of my mind.

We made our way through the lunch line and grabbed what we thought could be considered edible. The men at the lunch line all looked at us with perverted smiles. Mikey smiled back at them, his innocence almost pouring from his face. I just flashed a half smile, trying not to be as inviting.

We both ended up getting a slice of pizza and some vegetable medley on the side. To be honest, the pizza looked okay, but whatever vegetables they’d thrown into this concoction looked absolutely horrid. Me and Mikey looked at each other, and silently shared a moment of disgust. We sat in silence and picked away at our pizza, which actually didn’t taste that bad. I heard a few whistles from behind me as Mikey peered over my shoulder, giving whoever the attention they so desperately desired.

“Don’t give them the time of day, Michael. All they want to do turn you into a fuck toy.” I warned him, taking another bite out of my pizza.

“I think they just need a friend, they look friendly enough.” He shrugged his shoulders.

I almost choked on my pizza. “Friendly enough? What do you think this is, some daycare for toddlers? You don’t get it; you’re not in high school anymore, kid. In case you haven’t figured it out by now, this is a prison. A prison full of criminals, drug addicts, alcoholics, murderers, and so on. You're just some pretty little white boy to them.

Do you know what they do to guys like us in prison? They will beat you. They will rape you. They will shove their cock so deep into your asshole that you’ll feel it in the back of your throat. And they wont stop until your pretty little ass becomes so wide you can’t shit properly. Then, they’ll find someone new.” I knew I was being cruel, but this kid needed a reality check, for real. He sat there, shock overwhelming his face. Maybe he finally understood.

He blinked a few times, a tear falling down his face. Fuck.

“Hey, no. Don’t cry, I’m sorry. I know I seem harsh, but I’m telling you the truth. You said you had a brother here, right? Here, lets go find him.” I started to stand up when a tall guy walked over to our table. He was buff, his orange uniform matching well with his blonde hair. If he didn’t look 20 years older than me, I might think he was attractive. He turned his attention over to Mikey, flashing him a smile.

“Hey, are you okay? Is this guy being mean to you?” He nodded his head in my direction.

“Y-Yeah. I mean no- he’s not being mean. But I’m fine, really.” He stuttered, pushing his glasses further up his face while wiping a stray tear from his face. He face turning a shade of red.

“You don’t look fine. Here, why don’t you come with me. We’ll get away from this jerk.” He coaxed him out of his chair. “What’s your name?”

“Michael, what’s yours?” At least he remembered one thing I told him.

“I’m Bob. I don’t think I’ve seen you around before.”

“Yeah, we just arrived today. I don’t even know where my cell is yet, actually.”

“We’ll figure that out later. Come on, I’ll show you around.” He smiled back at Mikey, a warm and welcoming one. This guy had to in his forties, talking to someone half his age- I didn’t like it, not one bit. Made me want to vomit, really.

“Michael.” I spoke sternly, grabbing both their attentions. “What did I just tell you?”

“Don’t worry Frank! I’ll be fine. He’s just gonna show me around and stuff. I’ll meet up with you later, okay?” I just sat there and rolled my eyes.

They started to walk off together, leaving me by myself. The few people in here when we arrived had all scattered, leaving me by myself; A feeling I did not enjoy, especially in a place like this. I tossed the shit left on mine and Mikey’s trays in the garbage, and stacked them on the pile next to it. I turned my head towards the door; Ray was still there waiting for me.

“Ready to go? Hey, where’s-“

“He walked off with some other inmate, someone he knew from before.” I lied straight through my teeth, but he seemed to buy it.

“Whatever, I guess.” He shrugged his shoulders and led me down a hallway. We passed under a sign ‘Cell Block A’.

“So we usually pair inmates up in rooms alphabetically, but since one of your original roommate’s decided to stab the other, we’re moving you somewhere safer.” He explained. We walked down a rather large corridor, lined up with individual cells. From what I could see, each room had two bunk beds, one or two shelves, and a toilet/sink in the corner. They were actually larger than I expected them to be.

“I changed it so you’ll be bunking with both Way’s, one of them being the kid you were just with. You were originally going to be bunked with..” I tuned out his voice and just mindlessly walked towards him. I pretty much tuned everyone out, all the whistles and shouting, the ‘Hey baby’’s coming from each cell as I walked with Ray.

“Hey… HEY. Back here, Iero.” I snapped back to reality and turned around, realizing Ray had stopped a few cells back. I shuffled embarrassingly back to him and peered inside the cell that he stood in front of. It looked like all the others, green blankets and white pillows on top of the beds. There was a small poster and calendar beside the top bed of the bunk against the left wall. There was a guy laying in it, with long black shaggy hair that almost covered his eyes. He didn’t look too scary, not like someone who would kill me if they had a chance, like some of the faces I’d seen on the way here. He was reading some sort of comic book, I couldn’t see which one from here.

“Way, you got new bunkmates. Behave.” He said more as a casual greeting than an actual warning. He didn’t look up from his book, but spoke without skipping a beat.

“Damn, no more midnight masturbation sessions for me, huh then? He muttered under his breath, I barely caught it myself. I chuckled softly.

“What was that?” Ray spoke up, his eyebrow raised, not with curiosity, more like… amusement.

“Nothing. Now leave me be.” He waved his hand in our direction, motioning him away. Ray dug out his keys and unlocked the cell gate, pulling it open slightly. I walked in and he slammed it shut behind me, causing me to jump a little.

“Sorry, gets stuck sometimes.” He muttered.

“Bye, Ray.” I whispered as he walked off. He didn’t seem to hear me, giving me no second glance.

I turned and took another look at the second Way. This must be the brother he was talking about. I walked to the bunk bed opposite his and jumped on the top bed. The springs cried out under my weight, like it hadn’t been used in a while. I sat there awkwardly, not exactly sure what to do. Fuck it.

“Hi.” I said. That’s one way to start it off, I guess. Right? I got no response from him, so I decided to try again.

“I’m Frank.”

“Good for you.” He muttered into his book, scanning the pages of his comic.

“What’s your name?” Again, no response. Fine, be that way. “Come on, we’re stuck with each other for God knows how long, we might as well get to know each other.”

He rolled his eyes and shut his book. “Fine. The name’s Gerard, and that’s all you two need to know-“ He scanned the bed below me, then under his own. He looked around the cell. “Didn’t he say roommate’s?”

“Yeah, the other guy walked off with some guy named Bob. Just a kid, too.”

“And you're not?” He scoffed, looking me up and down.

“Not compared to him. What’s his name…” My voice trailed off, and I snapped my fingers repeatedly.

“Mickey, Mick-No.. Mike. Mikey! That’s it, Mikey.” I exclaimed quietly. I looked back over at Gerard. He stared wide-eyed into his sheets, his face had gone extremely pale. He blinked a few times, just sitting there like some detached person.

“What the fuck did you just say?
