She's the Prettiest Girl in the Club and She Can Prove It With a Pair of Brass Knuckles

Chapter 6: Confiding

As Frank Iero Sr. Sr. was walking down the weak, creaky basement steps in his grandson's house, he knew something wasn't right. His grandson hadn't been upstairs all day, the only thing that made his presence clear was the soft sound of his guitar playing and voice screaming that was barely audible over the sound of the ongoing birthday party of his wife upstairs. He knew he wasn't much of a socializer already but he would always show his face in the crowd. His son and his ex wife were in the same house, so Frank Sr was there for their sake and of course to check up on his beloved grandson who was missing in action at the moment. He understood the way that Frank would feel with the whole divorce and with the way that Linda would always bring it up in arguments blaming him for his father's actions.
As he knocked on the wooden door softly, he could hear soft shifting coming from the inside, until it opened just a little.

Frank didn't know who was knocking on his door, but said person better had a fucking good reason for it. No one disturbed him when he was in one of these moods. He would snap at them in an instant and if it was one of his cousins they would get a bloody nose and they could cry to their mom. He didn't give a shit.
But as soon as he saw his grandpa standing outside the door with his signature smile and his brown flat cap, Frank couldn't help but throw the door open and letting the old man inside. He hugged his grandpa with a smile that couldn't be faulted.
"Grandpa I didn't expect you to be here!" Frank said happily, pulling away and looking at his grandfather in awe.
"Do you really think I'd miss the opportunity to come here and spend time with you Paco?" Frank Sr. said, his grandson helping him sit down on one of the couches in the rather large room. He was facing his grandson now and he immediately saw that something was bothering him. He looked as if he hadn't seen his bed in weeks, worn out, his life sucked out of him and all his passion gone.

Frank gave his grandpa a weak smile and hugged his knees on the couch hiding his face. He couldn't lie to his grandpa but he didn't want to cry in front of him giving up his whole life for one thing.
"I'm just tired is all.."
Frank said, looking at his grandpa from the corner of his eye, who wasn't buying a word he said.
"Franklin, I may be old and I may wear weird hats, but I am not stupid. So tell me what is up!"
Frank giggled softly, keeping his eyes focused on the floor. He never noticed the stains on his carpet, or that it was actually a greenish colour...he had definetly never looked at a floor with such interest before.
"It's just..that I can't..like..do this..."
Frank said softly, still looking down. He could feel his face heat up and his throat thightening. Fuck. He couldn't cry infront of his grandpa. He would only think he was a pansy too.
"Do what?"
Frank lifted his head up, met his grandpa's eyes and in that moment he couldn't keep it in anymore.
"It's just everything is too much for me grandpa! Mum and Dad, I get bullied and Jamia has that boyfriend and she ignores me and I can't do it!"
Frank started to cry, hugging his knees to his chest. Wrecked sobs escaped his mouth, but he didn't
care anymore. Everything was fucked up anyway and he didn't wanna be here anymore.
"Paco..hey calm down.."
"I'm so sorry for being such a fuck up.."
Frank continued to cry, he couldn't move, his whole world was falling apart and he couldn't do shit about the suffocation feeling in his chest that was slowly killing him.
Grandpa Iero walked over to Frank, softly engulfing his grandson in a hug and not saying one word.
He gently rocked Frank, who was holding onto his grandpa for dear life. He had never cried like this
infront of anyone before, but he was glad that it was his grandfather calming him down. He was definetly the only anchor Frank had in his life at the moment.

"Shhh...calm down. Better things are yet to come and even if this situation is so horrible and it seems way too hopeless to ever get out of, you'll see that it will get better. Just gonna take some time.."
Frank shock his head softly, looking up into his grandfather's eyes, who smiled down at him, softly petting his hair.
"Here, have a tissue. I don't want snot on my pullover Frank."
Frank smiled weakly and took the tissue, blowing his nose after he dried his eyes. He felt absolutely awful but his grandpa still managed to make him smile.
"So how about we get you distracted and you show me how good you got at playing the guitar?"
"Yeah why not.."
Frank sighed, got up and got his guitar, sitting down next to his grandpa.

After an hour of listening to her son and her ex father in law jamming, Linda Iero made her way downstairs and knocked on the wooden door.
"Come in!"
Frank yelled and looked at his mum when she was coming in.
"Uhm I am really sorry to interrupt but...Frank, Jamia is here for you. It seems to be really urgent so..please go upstairs and let her inside."
Frank felt his blood run cold and his body freeze. Jamia? What was she doing here? And what did she want?

Oh, it's so cute! Honestly, I think it is a perfect ending to this particular story. If you want to write more, you know all of us in the comments wouldn't object to a sequel!!!

Just remember that this is YOUR story, and you should do what you feel is right. :D I'm just a fan in the comments.
