I don't love you

Chapter 1

I woke up that morning before my alarm went off. The house smelled of bacon and pancakes, but even the wonderful food downstairs didn't make me want to get out of my soft, warm sheets. It was my first day at the new school and I was absolutely terrified. My mom and I had moved from California to New Jersey near the end of the summer. My last school was huge so it was easy to go unnoticed, but this school was small. I was going to be seen and I was scared shitless. I reluctantly got out of my warm bed and began applying my usual makeup. After I finished, I decided this day called for curls. I was curling my last strand of hair when I heard my name.
“Briar!” My mom sang from downstairs, “Breakfast is ready, dear!” She was absolutely the best mom I could’ve asked for. She was an ob/gyn and a damn good one at that. She had dyed black hair that stopped at her jaw line. Her thin face was stunning with full lips and huge, green eyes. I looked very similar to her, fortunately for myself; however, my face was a bit more round and my hair was long and blonde.
“Coming, Mom!” I called down to her as I threw a blue, floral dress on. I picked up my sandals on the way out of my room and ran down the steps.
“Hey there, Chimichanga!” My mom hip bumped me, handing me a plate of bacon and pancakes, “Eat up, then get to school! Today’s the first daaaaaayyyy!” She held her spatula like microphone for the last bit. I just laughed and ate my food. Once I was done, I blew mom a kiss and headed to my car.

I walked into the front office, nervously asking for help to find my class. The lady nodded and informed me that there would be an assembly in the auditorium, and I would be further directed to my seat once I got there. I thanked her, excited that I was blessed with nice people on my first day.
Once I found my way to the auditorium, a friendly teacher helped me to my seat after asking my last name. I noticed before I sat down that the chairs had a sticky note with the student’s name on it. I had Mikey Way to my left and Bob Bryar to my right.
Mikey walked up first. He was a skinny boy with longish dark hair and glasses. He smelled like expensive cologne and cigarette smoke. He waved then held out his hand, “Mikey Way."
“Briar Wells,” I smiled and shook his hand.
“Hey! That’s my name!” I turned to see a large, intimidating, blond beside me.
“Well then, I like your name!” I smiled at the blond this time.
“And I like yours.”
“Briar, this is Bob. He’s one of my brother’s friends,” Mikey pointed to the husky boy.
“So, is this arrangement jumbled or…?” I trailed off, not sure what my point was.
“It’s alphabetical. You must be the last junior; I’m the first senior,” Bob whispered as the lights dimmed. I nodded my head and Bob smirked at me.
“What’s your first class? I could help you get there,” Mikey whispered, leaning into me. The smell of smoke got stronger as I felt his arm press into mine. I gave him my schedule and he examined it for a few seconds before stating that we had all four classes together, “It looks like you’re stuck with me. I’ll be like your own personal tour guide!”
After the assembly, Mikey and I headed off to our first block. We had English with Mrs. Edward. She was short, thin, and smelled of moth balls. She was alarmingly old and I was a bit nervous about if she was still able to read or not. The black pant suit she was wearing screamed ‘don’t mess with me.’
Mikey bent his head down to my height, “She’s the oldest witch in this hell hole, but they wont let her go. Lord knows why…”
“Michael Way, you’re in seat number thirteen, Briar Wells, seat number fourteen,” she eyed us down, looking over her hooked nose.

By the end of second block, Mikey looked ready to slam his head into the wall. Calculus had killed both of us.
“Well,” Mikey smiled, “at least now it’s lunch, come on!” I laughed and followed him to the cafeteria. We got our food and went outside.
“Where are we going?” I questioned.
“How about under that tree?” he pointed to a tall oak, “I don’t see any more tables left.” I nodded and we went over, ducking underneath the low branches.
“My brother usually sits over there,” he gestured towards a large fountain. I saw Bob sitting with three other boys. One was short and had tattoos all over his body; one had an afro and was laughing about something the short one had said; and there was one with untamed black hair. The raven haired boy was gorgeous. “Sometimes I sit with them, but I enjoy some peace and quiet away from Frank.”
Mikey didn’t say which was his brother and I couldn’t see any resemblance between him and any of them.
I just smiled and nodded, muttering, “cool.”

YAYY update! And AP classes are a bitch. I would say I know what your going through but I'm too lazy to take AP classes, plus I don't have the brains to pass them. But I know they suck. Take your time and pass your exams, we'd all rather a longer wait and a well written chapter than a short wait period with a short and shitty chapter with billions of errors. Good luck on ur exams!
