Frerard is Real
What Can You Do To Fix This One, Oh, Great Stump?
~
“The day that I admit the truth, I knew it would be hard.” Jack stood in front of the couples who were gathered in a circle. All eyes were on him. He added, his eyes glancing down to the sheet of paper he had written, “I still have the anger of betrayal carried in my heart, the pit of my stomach, and in the back of my mind-though Alex had went behind my back and done something that is hard to forgive, my internal conflict will forever be in the back of my mind, isolated, forgotten.” Jack tucked in his lips, his eyes met Patrick. Jack hesitantly sat down as Patrick wrote down in his notepad, “Okay, next.”
Austin stood up from his chair. Patrick's eyes caught his paper shaking, trembling in his hands. Patrick rose a brow as Austin read, “Alan can be a bit controlling in the relationship, he can be a bit harsh-and an insane drama queen, but in bed, I am the alpha. I lead him in the bed, I control him. Sure he can be the alpha outside of bed, but I will always be the alpha when it comes to sex.” Austin sat down.
Patrick nodded slowly as he wrote down in his notepad.
Vic stood up with flashcards, “Jaime misses Kellin, I miss Kellin. But to be fair, Kellin had made his choice. He wants to be with his family. He wants to see his daughter grow up into the woman he wants her to be. He wants to raise her-Jaime,” Vic smiled at his lover, “Kellin is long gone. Sure he talks to us a few times, but he’s made his choice and we have to accept it.”
Patrick smiled a bit. He was amused by the group. This was something he had never seen before-each person in a couple chose to give their side of the perspective. Now Patrick had it easier, more easier to point out the true problem in each relationship, more easier to solve it.
Patrick turned to the laptop next to him. On the screen, were Gerard and Frank, smiling back at him. Patrick asked, “Is there anything either of you two wiould like to share?”
Gerard shrugged, but he didn’t say no. In his mind, as long as he didn’t lie to Frank or Patrick, everything was going to okay.
Frank smiled, “Everything seems to be fine over here.”
Gerard looked at Frank, “Well, not everything is perfect.”
Frank looked at Gerard, “Well, no, but everything is fine.” Frank read Gerard’s guilt, “Right?” Gerard kissed Frank’s cheek, but didn’t say a word.
Patrick’s eyes, along with everyone else’s, were on Frerard. Frank turned to Gerard from the chair, “Are you keeping something from me? Or are you starting to lie again?” Gerard didn’t want to reply, and so he didn’t.
Frank sighed in disbelief, “God dammit, Gerard. Just talk to me-whatever it is, we’ll work it out.”
Patrick nodded, “Good, good. You see Gerard, Frank is willing to tone down his anger because he knows the relationship between you two is more important.”
Gerard felt a pile of guilt sitting on his lap-he knew there was only one thing to do, and lying wasn’t the choice. Gerard felt his lips quivering, his eyes began to water, “You’re going to hate me.”
Frank shook his head slowly, leaning into Gerard, “Everything’s going to be okay.”
Gerard sang softly, “I’d end my days with you in a hail of bullets.”
Frank shook off the reference and sang back, “I’ll let you know how much you mean to me.”
Gerard shed a single tear, “Frank, I’m so sorry…”The group leaned in closer to the cliche scene. Patrick was deciding whether or not to cut off the connection, but his curiosity was overtaking him.
Gerard cried, his face covered in tears. He weakly choked out, “I kissed him.” But his cries were overshadowing his saying, so Frank didn’t hear. Gerard laid his head on Frank’s shoulder. Frank hushed his softly, “You’ll make too much noise, calm down love.” Gerard shook his head and said again, a little more clearly, “I kissed him.”
Patrick couldn’t make it out, so he turned up the volume on the laptop. Frank brushed his hand through Gerard’s hair, “What?”
Gerard sniffed as he retreated his head, locking eyes into Frank’s. He wiped his blood-shot red eyes and said, making it clear to everyone, “I kissed Mikey.”
Frank dropped his hands to the side. Patrick’s jaw dropped, Fuenciado exchanged glances to one another, Cashby was completely stunned, and Jalex held back their “ew”. Frank backed away slowly from Gerard. Gerard cried, “I’m sorry but if Ray hadn’t came into the room, I have a feeling Mikey and I would have done worse-”
Frank raised his hand, trying to sink in the stunning news. He got up from his chair, and out of view of the camera. Gerard’s watery eyes looked up to Patrick, “What can you do to fix this one, oh, Great Stump?” Gerard chuckled, but his desperation was overcoming his external and internal emotions...now this, was a problem that was going to be hard to fix for the Great Stump.
