What The Book Holds...

The book

-- Kris's Point Of View --

I was awaken by the sound of my alarm going off. I punched the snooze button so hard I swear it was broken. But I didn't care. I didn't feel like going to school either. Like my school life isn't bad just didn't feel like it today.

So I got out of bed and went to run a shower. The feeling of the warm water on my bare skin felt nice. But it was short lived once my shower turned cold. I quickly turned it off not wanting to freeze myself and wrapped a towel around my self.

Once I had gotten changed and brushed my hair I headed down stairs to get myself some breakfast. I toasted some toasted, slapped some butter on both the pieces and ate them at the small dining table.

I live with my mother so we don't really need any thing big. But she was at work because she works the early shifts. Once I had finished my toast I walked into the living room and grabbed my bag.

I placed a sketch pad and some other things in there. Nothing to amazing. I slipped on some black VANS and headed out the front door. It wasn't to bad of a day really.

The sun shining its rays throw the air and causing the ground to reflect some of the light. It was also autumn so the dry orange leaves where gliding across the ground and sky with the wind. Some times causing little tornados.

I walked to the park and sat on the hard wooden bench. This is where I spend most of my time. Just listening to the birds sing there own song, while drawing on the park bench.

But some thing seemed out of place today. Some thing seemed different. I could feel it. Like a feeling of power in the area. There never used to be this feeling so being the person I am. I got off the bench and started to look around.

after about 5 minutes of finding nothing I was beginning to give up. then something caught my eye. It looked brown but I wasn't quite sure so I walked over to it. There was a hole in the big oak tree and the feeling was stronger here.

I was a bit wary of what might be in there. but after some time of thinking I finally placed my just in the inside of the hole. I pushed my hand in a bit farther and came in contact with something cool to the touch.

I moved my arm around a bit before I found the corner of the object and pulled it out. It was covered in dust so I sucked in a huge breath and blew onto the object. Most of the dust didn't come off so I used my hand to dust of the remaining dust.

Once all dust was removed I was holding a book. Very old by the looks of it. It was made with leather and very worn. Like some little kids story book. The cover had 2 big words on it. 'DONT READ'

Now we all know that just makes you wanna read it more. But I decided against it and placed the book into my bag. I started my walk home with the book on my mind the whole time.
Ok once I get to my room I am reading this book. No matter what.
