I Need to Think of Better Titles.. I'm Really Sorry

Fanguying in the Bookstore.

-Frank's POV-
"Hello Frank. Um, actually my friend Luna and I are hanging out at my house later and if you want to join you can go ahead and come along. This place is kind of a shit hole so Luna and I are kinda like the toys in the Island of Misfit Toys. We don't really talk to anyone outside of us two but you seem fine." He smiled. It was a cute smile.
I couldn't tell if he was being honest or if he was just being a jackass. I've had it done to me before and long story short I ended up with maple syrup in my hair. I didn't want people giving me more trouble than I already had, ""Sure. I guess, if your friend won't mind. I don't want to be cockblocking or anything.." I grinned. I noticed that his ears started getting red and he slightly dipped his face down so I wouldn't notice it. He was adorable which only made me smile more.
Once, I gave him my number and he gave me mine I grabbed my stuff and decided to do more exploring around the mall.
After a super drink and mega crappy nachos, I really need to pee. I got up from the bench I was sitting on and headed towards the restroom. As I was walking I walked past a book store and it hit me that I was out of comics. Well, at least new ones. I walked into the story and a beeping machine went off as I passed through the entrance. "Hello? Anyone here?" I called out. It was quiet. Too quiet. It was too quiet even for a book store, I smirked at the thought. "Hellooooo?" I tried once more.
"Yeah. Hi. I'm here sorry. I didn't here the dingy thingy go off.." I heard a voice behind the counter call back.
"Dingy thingy?" I muttered under my breath. "Um, yeah I was wondering if you have any comics?"
"Actually no. We don't but I have a few in the back that are mine that I've been trying to get rid of if you want to look at them." A girl jumped from behind the counter. She had black hair and big brown eyes.
"You sell your own comics?" I raised an eyebrow at her.
"Yeah, just don't tell my boss. A lot of people come in looking for comics and I hate to tell them that we don't. That and I get bored sitting here so I read." She starts walking behind a curtain. Then as if remembering I was suppose to come with her she pops her head out, "You coming or do you want me to bring them here?"
"Um, I think I'll wait here." I try not to sound awkward but I fail anyways.
"Suit yourself." She shrugs and goes back behind the curtain.
I look around while she's in there. There was a couple loud bangs but I decide to let her deal with her own devices. I soon spot some Darren Shan books and I start flipping through the books.
"Okay, I have Batman, Watchmen, The Doom Patrol, and The Sandman." She laid the pile down onto the counter and sighed.
"You seriously want to get rid of Watchmen?" I gasped and looked at her.
"Psh, no!" She gave me a look, "If you want to read them then you will have to give me a legal copy of you signature in blood then I will loan them to you." She grins at me then nudges me with her shoulder. "I'm just messing with you but I'm not kidding about the signature. Maybe, not in blood but I need to know I'll get it back.."
"Um, yeah, could I borrow them and you not kill me. Please?" I try to grin but I sense it looks more like a wince than an actual grin.
"Coolio! The other ones are for sell though. All except the first issue of Batman." She looks at the Darren Shan book in my hand, "I'm guessing you're gonna want to buy that too?"
"Actually yeah. I love Darren Shan." I shrug it off trying to brush it off like it was no big deal but honestly I wanted to tell her how awesome and how good Shan wrote his stories.
Almost as if reading my thoughts she added,"I love his imagery. He can really paint a picture in your head. I would say that my favorite book would have to be the Demonata series but I guess the Cirque Du Freak was pretty badass too." She went on typing the amounts of each book and comic into the cashier.
I stood there like a idiot gaping at her, "You've read Darren Shan books?"
She looks up from the cashier and raises an eyebrow, "Is it that hard to believe?"
"No, but I haven't met anyone who has.."
"Well, I have and my best friend has too." She waved it off as if it was no big deal.
"Wow.." I stared at her. I stared and stared until she looked up and gave me a queer look.
"That's gonna be $18.45 please.." Her voice all awkward.
I handed her the $20 and grab my new books and comics. "Thanks and sorry for kinda being weird.."
I started heading out the exit when she called after me, "Hey! We all have our fangirling moments!" I heard he giggle slightly from where I was standing.
"More like fanguying..." I called back. All she did was smile and look down at the counter.
I didn't have to think about it.. I'm going to be coming into the bookstore more often..

Notes

Yeah, this chapter kinda sucked but I don't care what I think. What do you guys think? Please comment and give me ideas for the next few chapters if you would like. Also, I mentioned Darren Shan a lot in this short chapter. Um, Darren Shan is a big inspiration to me in my writing. He wrote the Demonata and Cirque Du Freak series. If you haven't read them then go and find them because they are great books <3
Thanks for staying with me this far :)
