I'm Okay. Trust Me
Timeway Hospital
Gerard's POV
I paced my bedroom nervously. I kept glancing at my clock. Seconds ticked by.
There had still been no sign of Frank.
Eventually, I pulled out my phone and sent him a text.
Hey Frankie, it's Gee. I didn't see you after school and you weren't on the bus, so please just text me and let me know you're okay. Xo
I waited. Five minutes ticked by. Frank always responds fast.
Ten minutes ticked by. This isn't good.
I sent him another text.
Please let me know you're okay. I'm really worried. Xo
I took a deep breath and laid down on my bed. I tried to shut my eyes, but it was hopeless. I was too worried.
20 minutes went by and I still hadn't heard from him. Call me desperate, but I cared about him too much. Worry was consuming me.
With shaky hands, I dialed Frank's number. It rang five, long times before an unfamiliar voice answered.
“Hello?”
“Yes, hello, who is this?” my voice frantic.
“This is Lindsey, I'm a nurse at Timeway Hospital” my heart dropped, “I suppose you're looking for Frank?”
“Yes I am. Where is he? Is he at the hospital? Is he okay?” I blinked away tears and grabbed my jacket, already knowing where he was.
“Yes, he's at the hospital. He was knocked unconscious, but the doctor said he would be okay. Sir, may I ask your-”
“I'll be there in 15 minutes”
And with that, I hung up and ran downstairs, yelling for my mom.
Frank's POV
I awoke in a hallway. The dim lights were flickering on and off. I felt shiver go up my spine and realized I was pressed up against a set of lockers. Though when I tried to move forward, my body stayed in place, frozen.
The panic and worry that I knew all too well started to rise inside me. I struggled against the invisible force that was keeping me bound against the lockers.
In the distance, I heard the faint sound of footsteps
I listened closer.
There were two pairs of footsteps.
My heart beat sped up immensely and I strained to move, to get away, but it was useless.
Soon, the faceless figures that the footsteps belonged to appeared out of the shadows.
Although, these two figures had smiles painted across their bare faces with what seemed to be blood.
My legs went weak and fell to the ground.
The creatures approached me and one raised the foot and kicked me in the side. An aching pain shot through me. I tried to stifle a groan, but failed.
The other one swung his fist at my head, knocking me on my side, I screamed in agony.
Then, the one that had kicked me, knelt down next to me and looked down at my shaking body. Somewhere deep inside me, a dark, blood-curdling scream arose from my throat.
I screamed and screamed and tried to kick and claw at the horrific creature, but it just stared down at me with that devilish, blood-red smile, mocking my suffering.
My tear-stained eyes shot open and were pierced by a bright light. I squinted and looked around. I was in a hospital. In a small, sterile-looking room. Laying in a bed with white sheets covering the lower half of my body.
There was a young nurse with pale skin and jet black hair clutching my right arm. I jerked my arm away from her and an agonizing pain burst through me. I groaned.
Once my eyes had fully adjusted to the light, I realized Gerard was in the corner of the room being held back my two other nurses. His eyes were red and puffy. His cheeks blotchy. His hair looked like he had been pulling on it. He looked completely beside himself.
“Frank!” Gerard shouted, straining against the nurses.
I lunged at him, but the pain that exploded inside me when I did made me recoil and whimper, clutching myself.
The nurse that had been holding onto my arm helped me lay back down.
“Frank” she said firmly, “You are seriously hurt, moving isn't going to help”
I scowled at her. “Tell those goons to let go of Gerard and then I want to have time alone with him. In private”
“Frank, you need to-”
“Now!” I growled. I wasn't going to have any of this bitch's shit. I wanted to be with Gerard.
She sighed, defeated and gestured for the other nurses to let go of Gerard.
When they did, he came running toward me, but was ever so gentle when he embraced my aching body.
When he let go of me, I looked up and realized the nurses were still in the room, confused expressions plastered across their stupid faces.
“Get out!” I shouted.
The two nurses that had been holding Gerard back quickly exited the room, but the nurse with the black hair eyed Gerard and I suspiciously before slowly walking out and closing the door.
“Bitch..” I mumbled, glaring at the door she had just exited out of.
Gerard just hugged me again, still being careful.
“Lindsey told me you were attacked” Gerard said softly, into the crook of my neck.
I huffed.
“I'm assuming Lindsey is that annoying skank” I murmured back.
Gerard pulled back, looking me in the eyes, an amused smile playing on his lips.
“What?” I asked, annoyed.
“It's just... Lindsey was right when she said that pain medicine may cause mood swings” Gerard chuckled.
I glared at him.
He smirked.
“You're hot when you're mad”
I rolled my eyes and tried to push him away, but a sharp pain shot through my arm.
“Ow.. Fuck...” I mumbled, wincing.
Gerard's expression quickly turned serious.
“You need to rest” he stated firmly, "You've been through enough"
