Cancer

Counting Down the Days

We patiently waited in my room, and I hate to say it but those hazel eyes, those crisp, clear, soulful, amber, hazel eyes were haunting me. They floated in my mind and I felt myself slightly shudder. I allowed a sour look to cross my face as I glared at my Black Flag poster.

Frankie and Mikey had taken it upon themselves to decorate my room. They filled it with posters of all sorts of bands, old and brand new, and even some of their friends bands. It ranged from The Misfits, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Nirvana, Blink-182 and then to some of their friends bands like Green Day, Fall-Out-Boy, Panic! At the Disco, Sleeping With Sirens.

I had heard too many demos to count over the past two weeks, and I had enough of their old sweatshirts to last a real person's lifetime. So, like, three lifetimes for me. We sat there, Frankie slyly smirking at me from the corner of his eye, nudging Mikey and whispering every so often.

"Oh my fucking god. Stop whispering like two little girls and just fucking talk out loud!" I exploded in anger and anxiety. They had both come quite accustomed to my short temper and constant yelling, ( a side effect of the cancer ) and they admitted they liked it. Frankie burst into laughter as I fumed.

"Chill out little sister," He giggled. "We were just talking about how you melted at Gerard's gaze." He clasped his hands together and pretended to swoon at the last part. Mikey screeched in laughter while I glared at them.

"I did not." I defended myself, crossing my arms. Mikey laughter harder and Frankie cocked an eyebrow high above the other.

"Oh, Mir [pronounced Meer], honey, you definitely did." He answered.

"You didn't even see him wake up! How would you know!?" I felt my voice rising as I grew bright red. Ah, another head blush. Just great. I clenched my fists and my jaw as well.

"Oh, darling, you can tell." He answered. As I opened my mouth to curse at him, he carried on. "Little sister, it's nothing to be ashamed of. Those boys eyes are downright enchanting." Frankie added. I had to agree, there was a magic quality to those golden orbs. I knew I was grinning a little bit.

"Dude, do we have to talk about my big brother like that. C'mon!" Mikey complained, and now it was Frankie and my turn to laugh as Mikey made a disgusted face. The door suddenly burst open and by now I was used to it being my new regular doctor Toro.

"Doctah T, what's up?" Frankie shouted in the man's direction. Dr. Toro let his face light up in an easy grin at the introduction. We had grown fond of each other to the smallest extent. I could officially stand the man, so that had to count as something.

"What's going on with Gerard?" Mikey asked with the faintest of faint smiles on his perfect little face. Dr. Toro's smile dissipated the tiniest bit, but not too much. That had to be kind of good.

"Well, he's no longer in a coma-" We cheered. "But he probably won't be able to see you guys for a few days-" We jeered. "He needs to get used to his new life, he'll be staying here for a while. He needs to relearn old things, and he's not a very patient boy, so that'll take a while. He also keeps asking about you, Miracle, so we need to introduce him to you and-"

I blushed so hard that Frankie burst into actual laughing tears and Mikey rolled around on the ground. Dr. Toro had no idea what was going on, so he shot looks at the three of us.

"Erm, okay.. well, you'll probably be able to visit in two days. Try to wear stuff to remind him of his old life because he only remembers bits and pieces-" Mikey's whole face fell. Dr. Toro noticed that. "Micheal, he remembers you, Frankie, and bits and pieces of his life. He mostly remembers your parents. Say, what did they do to you?" Dr. Toro inquired. Mikey's face went sheet white.

"Um.. nothing at all." Mikey replied. Dr. Toro gave him a suspicious once over, but returned to speaking.

"Anyways, bring anything to remember his old life, hopefully this will work. See you guys around." And with that he left. We sat in silence for a moment. Then Frankie ruined it by hysterically laughing. His contagious giggle caused us all to laugh.

God, I love these boys.
