Gerard
“God, what a night.” Frank leaned against me, everyone else had gone home, Mikey was in the shower. I absentmindedly stroked his arm, his fingers locked with my free hand. “What’ll we do when she wakes up? Call the cops?” I shook my head.
“We already kinda pissed her off, maybe we should work on making a good impression, though we already, uh,”
“Fucked up.” He finished for me. I nodded. Christ, what were we going to do once she woke up?
“Now what? What would happen? No way we’re calling cops, I don’t want Ashley to keep pestering her, fuc-” Frank had somehow found his way into my lap, and had cut me off with his mouth on mine, and I willingly kissed back, loving the feel of him against me.

“Rae, I’m home! And you’ll never guess what.” My annoying big sister paraded into the room, swinging her red leather purse around her wrist. I rolled my eyes and muted the tv.
“What.” I didn’t take my eyes off the silent screen, yet she still took it as a sign to interupt my pretend sound.
“So, apparently, Gerard, Frank, and Mikey were walking home, then they saw some overdosed chick on their driveway! Weird, she’s weird, but she looks your style and age. I’ll take you with me tomorrow to meet her. She’s a bitch though, kept telling me to fuck off.” She pouted.
“She’s not the only one.” I stood up and walked to my room, randomly slamming the door and getting on my laptop. Jesus, I hate life.

I walked out of the bedroom, my jeans and boots back on. I jumped the stairs, feeling really well rested.
“You look up.” Ge… Frank -Yeah, that one was Frank- said. I half smiled and decided it to be safe to take off my hoodie. I started unzipping it, breathing heavily. Do I really want them to get that involved? No, but it’s not like they’re not gonna find out everything sooner or later. Yes, besides, it’s too warm in here.
I discarded my jacket, neatly lying it on the edge of the couch. I looked over, fear in my eyes, and Frank’s eyes as well. I started to feel tears come to my eyes, but then I dismissed it. I walked to what I thought was the kitchen.
Now this one was Gerard. I waved slightly and leaned against the counter. He picked up the pot he was cooking in, and poured a little of the food into a bowl. He handed it to me, along with a spoon, and pointed towards where honey, brown sugar, cinnamon, and all that jazz was.
“You feeling better? You certainly look more rested.” I nodded before taking a seat in a chair he pulled out for me. I set the bowl on the small wooden breakfast table. Turning in my seat, I found it safe to talk.
“Thank you. Yeah, I feel better. Now, I’m sorry I was being a bitch and all-” He cut me off with a wave of his hand.
“It’s okay. I know what it’s like to have a cocaine overdose.” I blinked a few times, cocaine, how’d he know? Was it that obvious? Maybe he tested me while I was sleeping. No, not possible, no way in hell he could even get into the room without me knowing. Well, he did say he had experience with cocaine, maybe he used to be an addict too.
“You took the pills, you told me that, and I figured out the rest. At first i thought you just tried to commit suicide and take a whole bunch of random pills, but then I thought, ‘no, you were really fucked up when we got you.’ The only drug I could come with was cocaine. But you just concluded my theory. Now, I know how to help you get clean. If you’ll just let me help.” He was not going to let up. He was going to make sure that I tell him everything. I sighed. No point in denying the fact that I was an addict.
“Fine. But you have to promise to help me. No rehab, cops, any of that shit.” He nodded, sincere. I took a deep breath and blabbed my whole life story to him. What the fuck.

“Okay, I’m up! Jesus Christ. Don’t you have any respect?” I whined at my sister, who had turned on my lights, and was now fighting with me for my covers.
“Get up! We’re going out, well, to Mikey and Gee’s, so c’mon!” She was way too excited. I got my ass out of the bed, moving to the closet and pulling out some clothing, Ashley left the room. I sighed and fell onto my carpet, the blacklights making the white carpet purple. I looked at my window, the only window that wasn’t completely boarded up, only allowing a thin sliver of light cascade through.
I left the bedroom with ripped black skinny jeans and a second hand Smashing Pumpkins tshirt from Gerard. I walked down the stairs and stomped into the kitchen. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. I put black powder into my mug, then poured some hot water into the cup. Stirring with the handle of a spoon and testing the liquid, I drunk it, scalding my throat.
“Rae-Rae! Put some shoes on and let’s go!” Ashley practically skipped into the living room, going for the car keys. I growled at her and walked to the stairs, taking each step slowly as my sister watched. She narrowed her eyes at me, I smirked and jumped the remaining five stairs.
I got to my bedroom and went for my converse, not bothering to tie them as I dragged myself down the carpeted staircase. I picked my leather jacket with the dark gray hood off the couch and put it on, following Ashley out the front door of our small apartment.
The drive to Gee and Mikey’s was full of Ashleys horrible taste in music and the humid feel in the car. We pulled up the street where the boys’ house was, parked on the other side of the street, and got out, walking to the front door. Ashley walked in, not bothering to knock, and she screamed.
Gee and Frank were on the couch, their lips clashing together. I walked in, sat on the couch and watched my sister stare in shock. I rolled my eyes as the two lovestruck men looked in my direction, then to Ashley, quickly sitting up and smiling awkwardly.
“Hi,” Gerard stood up, helping Frank up as well. “Sorry, uh, we lost track of time.”Frank giggled at Gee’s lame comment and laughed some more when Ashley finally came back to the world.
“D-do you guys always have t-to do that? Seriously though, it’s getting annoying.” Ashley crossed her arms. I stood up, turning to the still laughing boys.
“Sorry, Ash is just jealous ‘cause she still can’t get a boyfriend. I think last time I ended up leaving the house for her was that one time five months ago when I spent the night here-”
“Not true!” Ashley hissed at me, then Gerard got a tiny bit more serious, remembering something that was supposed to be mentioned earlier that day.
“Hey guys, she’s finally ready to talk, we had a decent conversation this morning, and she said she’s ready.” The three highschoolers nodded, and I stood there, confused.
“So she’s in the back with Bob, Mikey’s picking up Ray after work. They’ll be here any moment now.” As if on cue, the door opened and two more highschoolers walked in, calling out a ‘here’ with the timed entrance.
“Kay, so where is she?” Ray looked in my direction. “Hey Raven.” I waved slightly. “She in-” I was completely fed up about all the ‘she’ crap.
“Okay, who the hell is this ‘she’ girl? You guys have been going on about some ‘she’ while I’ve been sitting here, looking at you like you’re some stupid club with a code word. So, talk.” I crossed my arms, seriously confuzzled.
“Oh, sorry. I’m guessing that Ash didn’t tell you about Valkyrie.” I looked at him. “Who the hell is Valkyrie?”
“It’s a long st-”
“Don’t care if it’ s a long story, as long as it’s a story worth my time.” I sat down, and so did the others.
“Okay, but,” he sighed. “Frank and I were on a date yesterday when the cops called fro Mikey again. So as we were walking back here, we saw some girl passed out on the driveway, so we carried her inside. Her name is Valkyrie Caine.”
Valkyrie. Valkyrie Caine, why is that so familiar……… VC. VC, VC, VC, Valkyrie Caine,
I thought about the strangely familiar name. Valkyrie Caine…
Valkyrie Caine, a website? I thought about all the social websites I was on, scanning the names in my head, seeing if any of them matched up. I opened some old files that I had stored deep in my head, still looking through the names. Then I came across an old folder.
Ex’s that I never want to think about ever again (very creative name… yeah, no.) I opened it, thinking hard about all the old internet dating sites I would play around on. Then I found a name.
