I looked at my family. The only family I had left. This was a dangerous mission, espicially for Gerard and Victoria, the only two humans among us. Yeah sure they weren't normal humans but they were humans.

"Gerard, you and Victoria go hunt and eat. Me and Mikey will stay and wait."

They nodded and ran out the door.

Gram's little orange eyes filled with tears. "What if they don't come back aunty? Mommy almost died once."

"I'm sure they will come back. Your uncle has a family and your mommy wouldnt leave you." I said kneeling to his level.

"You pwomise?" He asked

"I promise. Or may god throw me off a cliff."

Gram hugged me and i picked him up and handed him to Mikey.

That was a family, a real family, something I could never have.
