SOMEONE Save Us

"...I remember one time mom was having a holiday get together and I saw Mikey in the backyard tree house...when I climbed up there, he was holding a beer and his clothes were drenched in tears..." He sniffed as the tears started flowing quicker.
"...I asked him what was wrong and he told me 'Mom said to get out of the house so that people wouldn't see me dressed like this'....at that moment it really hit me that we were alone and the only people we could go to were each other" I could almost hear my heart drop, land, and shatter in my stomach.

I suggested we go inside and warm up. He followed me and we walked over to my locker. I needed to check on Pansy and grab some eyeliner.

"So, how about you...do like being home alone?"

"Yeah, I mean I miss my mom and I wish I could spend more time with her but you know her job means she has to work late so it's okay...plus i'm almost 18 so she tries not to breath down my neck every minute" I shut my locker and turned around.

"Don't you get lonely or bored?"

"Not really but when I do I just go to sleep or I watch horror movies" I laughed trying to lighten the mood.

"Interesting, do you ever have friends over or throw parties?" I broke out in a total laughing fit.

Then I paused noticing his confusion. "Wait, I look like I have friends...and a social life"

"Yeah.Sort of.You look like you party a lot, just the way your hair is messy and your always whispering to Spencer in 'World Studies' class" He explained.

"Even more interesting" I said mockingly. He laughed.

We continued walking until the bell rang.
