I've Heard You've Been Bleeding
Can You Bleed Enough?
I shot my body up from my bed. Beads of sweat started to form at the top of my forehead. Guilt swept across me as moved and sat at the edge of my bed. My head landed in my hands as I tried to think straight. I looked out my window. the moon was still out and my clock said it was only 1:15am. It was just a dream.
As I sat, I started thinking again. Not all of it was a dream. I did leave my house at midnight and found what I was looking for. I didn't get knocked out or dragged. I remember I walked back to my apartment.
Yeah.
I got up slowly to the kitchen. I sighed in relief when I saw no one was there. I didn't investigate anymore as I dragged myself to my bed. It was too early to be awake, and I had school in the morning.
I know it sounds odd, but hear me out. I've been here too long and finally decided to make something of myself. And with being a vampire, I didn't finish high school before I turned over and I was getting bored with doing nothing. I've seen a lot. Been there, done that. I was sick and tired of being useless. I wanted to be something more.

I woke up hours later to my alarm screeching. I got dressed and left my apartment. It's really easy to blend as both a teenager and a young adult. One, of the few, perks of being a vampire.
When I got to school, I rushed to my locker and went to my first period. I was the second week of the first semester and people had been coming and going, changing classes and such. I would see at least two or three new faces each day.
I got to my class before the bell and sat in the back. I threw my bag on the table and started to doodle, waiting for everyone else. As the bell rang, I watched as people started to creep in, looking for any fresh faces. When the tardy bell rang, the teacher went through attendance. I only heard when she called my name. I raised my hand, not leaving my doodles. After she was finished, she started class. I took notes as she spoke.
I froze and smiled when I smelt the sweet scent of blood, waft into the classroom.
"Wait! I'm here!" A boy yelled as he entered the class. He stopped when he got to the doorway, panting and trying to catch his breath. He had jet black hair and it covered his face.
"Name?" The teacher sighed as she went back to her attendance sheet.
"Gerard.. Gerard Way." She nodded. "Where do I sit?"
"In the back, next to him." She said pointing to me. I felt my face redden as his eyes gazed up at mine. I froze again when I saw his whole face, it was him.
He made his way to the back and took a seat next to my left. His face was badly bruised and his scar was still fresh. His blood had never smelt better.
I was thankful to notice he didn't recognize me. It was pretty dark last night. The only light that was in the alley was the moons. I also had my special eyes so that's how I could see him etc.. But it didn't stop him from talking to me.
"What are you drawing?" He whispered as he moved closer to me.
I froze. His scent was incredibly intriguing and I felt like I was loosing control, which was completely, odd. "Nothing, just doodling." I whispered back, pushing the paper towards him.
He traced the dumb little ghost I had done. "It's so cute." He squealed. He looked back up at me with a small smile. "I'm Gerard."
I gave a smile back. "I'm Frank."

Gerard and I talked all period. He introduced me to things I hadn't even heard of. Music, art, movies, comic books. What kind of world have I been living in.
I tried really hard not to invest myself in our conversations. One because I didn't like talking very much. I could go a whole day without talking to anyone and be perfectly content. Two because I freaking drank from him. Do you know how awkward it is to be feasting off a person one second and having a conversation about "Hellboy" the next? Pretty damn awkward.
"Frank, aren't you going to eat?" Gerard asked, stuffing handful of chips in his mouth and suggesting I take some. He had dragged me to his table and made me sit with his friends, Bob and Ray, and his brother, Mikey.
"I.... I don't eat." I said quietly.
Bob nearly chocked on what looked like noodles. "How can you not eat?"
"I just don't... I guess." My face reddened as everyone at the table stared at me in silence.
Gerard shook his head, swaying his jet black hair back and forth. "I'm bringing you food." My eyes widened as he yelled. "OW!"
"What happened?" Mikey asked.
"I was scratching my arm and this happened." He showed everyone a huge scab, from the night before, that had been peeled off. Blood started to seep out. The crimson liquid slowly moved down his arm, making my stomach growl. I clutched the bottom of my shirt, trying to contain myself. "Look Frank." He moved it over to me.
I began shaking, trying to fight every urge not to lick it and drain him. "Are you okay, Frank?" I shook my head and made myself leave. I walked outside the cafeteria to catch up with myself.
I sat down against a wall. I let my head hang in between my knees, breathing heavy and trying to calm myself. I started to think about Gerard's blood. How the temperature was perfect. Not too warm, not too cold. How filling it was with each drink...
"Frank?" A familiar voice said softly. "Are you okay?"
I looked up to see Gerard's face shine in the sun. His arm was bandaged up. I sighed. "Yeah."
He extended his arm out and helped me up like I did last night. My stomach growled with hunger. He smirked at me. "C'mon, let's get you some food." He said, patting and rubbing my back.
"But I-"
"Frank, your skinny as hell. You're eating, or I'll pull this bandage off and rub my arm all over your face." Only if he knew, that's what I wanted him to do.
