The Aftermath is Secondary

-Poison's POV-
I sat with Toxic as Show Pony stitched her back up. She grimaced and clung onto my shoulders. Every now and then she would whimper in pain and I wanted nothing more than to yank her away and run off with her. But I'm pretty sure Dr. D would shoot me.

"Toxic, look at me." I whispered to her and her eyes met mine. They were filled with pain and something else. Guilt? "It'll be over soon, I promise." I whispered and her fingers dug into my shoulders.

"I'm so sorry." She whispered. Honestly she had been saying that a lot now of days. Something changed when she went to Battery City. Show Pony finished up the stitches eventually and Toxic pulled her oversized sweater back on.

"Toxic, what happened while you were in Battery City?" I asked and she tensed up in my arms.

"Nothing important." She said and I made her look up at me. When we cleaned off her body we saw all the cuts and bruises that she had been dealt. I ran my thumb over to lacerations on her cheek.

"Please don't lie to me." I said seriously and she scooted away from me. "I just want to help you." She sighed and looked at the ground.

"Poison , please. I can't talk about it." She protested and kissed her head.

"When you're ready. I'll be right here." I promised and got up, heading upstairs to talk to Dr. D. The door was closed once I got there and there were voices from inside.

"What do you mean you knew she was going to run?!" Dr. D's voice erupted through the air and there was a sigh.

"She told me before they left. She swore me to secrecy. " Kobra's voice said and I felt anger boil up inside me. I nearly busted down the door and grabbed him by his collar.

"You knew she was going to hurl herself into danger! And you didn't warn us!" I yelled and he fought against my grip.

"She just wanted her sister back!" He screamed and I threw him to the ground.

"You saw how she looked when she got back! Did you not even think to warn me?" I yelled and punched him right in the face. My fist just kept pounding into his face when I felt an arm touch my shoulder.

"Stop, you'll kill him." A voice said loudly and I stopped, and was pulled back. Kobra shot up and went to punch me but a tiny body stood in front of me."Stop, please." Toxic's voice cracked as she barely could hold herself up. Show Pony stood right by her just incase she fell. "I told him not to tell, be mad at me. " She said weakly and she whispered to Pony.

"Are you sure?" He asked and she nodded. He grabbed my arm and stood me on one side of the desk. He skated over to Kobra and led him out of the room.

"Why are you out of bed?" I asked her and she sat down on the little cot in the corner.

"I had to make sure you were both alive." She hissed. She was beyond pissed by now. At least she didn't lose her temper.

"I wasn't going to kill him." I protested but she just glared at me. Given it was a weak one, it was still scary as hell.

"Oh really because all that blood on the floor begs to differ." She said and I sighed. "Just go, rest and don't kill him." She said and looked away from me.
