Through Tragedy, I Found You
Chapter 2
Gerard's POV
I stop by Starbucks on my way home, and pick up two espressos. One for myself, and the other for...well, myself. I drink a lot of coffee.
I walk a few blocks before heading to my apartment, enjoying the view of the busy state of New Jersey, humming as I trod along. Nothing new along the streets of my home state. That is, until I slam into someone else, spilling my coffee. I expect an unbearable burn to reach my chest, causing me to yelp in pain. But that doesn't happen. Instead, the scorching beverage had spilt all over a stranger, not one drop reached my own coat.
"Shit, I'm so sorry," I apologized, watching the young man pick at his wet clothing. As I come to look at it, he's a bit too young. He looks my age, seventeen, and very thin. The teen had hazel eyes surrounded by dry eyeliner and a ring curled unto his lip, not to mention tangled jet black hair. He smiled at my apology. "Nah, don't worry about it."
I felt terrible. "Hey, how about you come by my place and I'll buy you a coffee."
He grinned. "Kay."
