When Both Our Cars Collide
Conversation
Amry's POV
I shifted my body upwards, I was tempted to turn my head but I felt that I shouldn't break eye contact with him. After shaking out my left hand I raked it through my hair, wanting to look a little better for the man beside me. "Hi, I'm Gerard. I was the other driver." He extended his had and I took it into mine. His grip was warm and firm. It felt like a hug. "I'm Amry, and do you know here a mirror might be? My top teeth feel funny." I giggled slightly at the feeling of my most likely broken teeth against my tongue. A soft chuckle emitted from him before he handed me the small one on the small table beside me. He place it into my hands and I lifted it up to examine my teeth. My front two top teeth were broken. Suddenly, I broke into a fit of giggles. "God I look hilarious. My students are gonna get a kick out of this." MY laughter kept up for a few more minutes before I looked at Gerard, his face had an expression of confusion plastered onto it. "Students?" He questioned. "Yes, students. I'm fresh out of college and I have a teaching job as an English teacher at Rainier High. And my students are gonna love this." He smiled his warm smile at me. I couldn't help but grin. His smile was intoxicating. Like a drink you couldn't get enough of. It was absolutely beautiful, I wanted him to smile for forever. We ended up talking abut my job for awhile and suddenly it was noon. "Hello Mr. Way, Ms. Hanson. Both of you are going to need to get some blood tests so we are positive neither of you have an infection. So Mr. Way, I'm afraid I'm going to have to take you back to your room. You two can chit-chat some more tomorrow!" The overly-excited nurse, apparently named Leona, approached his wheel chair and took the handles into her hands. Leona let Gerard and I say our goodbyes before wheeling him off.
Getting blood drawn was very very tiring. I was already small, and had practically no weight on me so getting some of my blood taken out immediately tired me out. "Amry dear? We're gonna give you a little bit of Melatonin to help knock you out, we don't want you to put anymore strain on your body today." The kind nurse pushed the drug into my bloodstream before clicking off the lights and walking out.
Gerard's POV
Getting my blood drawn wasn't too bad. A little tiring but I could handle it. I woke up the next day with my first intention of seeing Amry. She was all that had been on my mind since we had talked the day before. The way her hair fell, the shine in her eyes, her giggle when she saw her two broken teeth. She was like a drug. One that I would never get enough of. Before I could even press the button the regular nurse, Liam, walked in. "So Gerard. I'll get you to Amry in a few minutes but we have some stuff to go over. One, your arm is mostly healed, as it was actually a small fracture, and you should be able to use it regularly now, which means you get wheel yourself around! Two, your concussion was worse that we thought so we're gonna keep ya a bit longer than expected. So off to Amry's!" He left the room after placing my breakfast beside me. I quickly swallowed it down and started wheeling myself away, my arm still a little sore. I got to Amry's and we immediately started taking, as she was just sitting reading. Today we talked about the band and the boys, as she insisted on hearing more about me, since we'd mostly talked of her the day previous, not that I minded. I loved hearing her talk. We talked for hours on end, we ate lunch together and as the clock approached 1:00 we heard a knock on the door. "Come on it!" Amry said cheerily. The door opened and in came throng of about 15 high school students.
