When Both Our Cars Collide

Collision

Amry's POV

Finally I escaped from that party. My best friend, Marina, decided that right before most of us went back to work or school, she would have a massive party and get everybody drunk. She was one of the few that didn't have a job to attend to the next morning. So she could deal with the hangover. Luckily I'd totally avoided getting hammered since I knew that after the melt and freeze last week that the roads would be horrid. As I got into the small vehicle I decided that tonight keeping my eyes on the road would be my main concern. I would rather not end up in some sort of an accident the night before school starts up again from Christmas Break. I hadn't seen my students in a couple weeks and was really looking forward to getting back to teaching. I never knew why, but I absolutely despised taking breaks from things like jobs, or school. I always hated the breaks throughout high school, I would have always rather been in a class room.

As I drove through the city I admired the night-life. It was 1:30 on a school night. Usually I'd gone to bed hours ago but I'd been dragged to that party, so my usual bedtime was not currently in place. I watched as a few shoppers casually walked down the streets, carrying bags from stores that had obviously closed hours ago. Then a few drunks appeared, always the funniest part of the night. I watched as the men and woman stumbled over to the curb to get a couple of the bright yellow taxis that were speeding by me every few seconds. The one thing that did surprised me was the lack of drivers tonight. I guess that's what happens when we get ice in Seattle. People avoid it like its the plague.
There was only a mile to go to my skyscraper apartment when my phone began to buzz in the cup-holder beside me. Immediately I recognized the ringtone. Louise. My older sister was calling me. We hadn't talked in months as she had been on another one of her crazy expeditions to some foreign countries. And she claims she didn't marry her Lukas for his money. I completely disregarded the rules I had created for myself when I entered the car earlier and reached for the vibrating Iphone. As my eyes swept back up to the road, the front of my car was colliding with someone else's. Then everything went black.

Gerard's POV

I exited the small studio and made a beeline for the elevator. Wanting desperately to get home. It was already 1:00 in the morning and I really couldn't afford to be out much later, as we had an interview the following morning and we were due to play live on a radio station directly afterwards. Luckily Mikey hadn't held me up tonight, I think he'd seen the desperate look in my eyes when we decided it was time to clean up. I rode the elevator down into the parking garage. Instantly I spotted my car. Its ratty exterior standing out against the Porsches and Ferraris located in the parking garage.

Scanning my I.D. card as I exited the small parking garage, I groaned when I got outside. I hated when the weather did this. The sudden spikes in temperature and then suddenly dropping down to ungodly degrees. I especially disliked driving after it. As it required so much focus and attention to the road. Which I had none of. Especially tonight, we'd had a n extra long band practice, so obviously I was dead tired, and stupidly I'd disregarded the guys instructions to take the bus instead and get my car tomorrow/ I told them that I could handle myself, I could tell by the looks on their faces they were not convinced. Honestly, neither was I.

Driving half-asleep was really against my best interests, but I hoped that maybe the 15 mile drive would go a little quicker than usual tonight. As I pulled onto a long stretch of road I decided that I would close my eyes for two seconds. Just two. That would help me get a little energy and then I could make the rest of the drive. My eyes fell shut, and as I felt the front end of my car collide with someone else's, I knew my eyes had been closed for a little longer than two seconds.

Damnit. Why didn't I just stop for coffee.

And everything went black.

Notes

Sorry About the POV switches, its gonna be like that throughout some chapters since I can't capture the full story through just one point of view.

Also, this is my first story on this site! I've been writing for a while but finally had an idea that I thought would be good enough to put onto here. I'll try to update frequently, but no promises.

Thanks!

P.S. I do realize the chapter is short, but I wanted this stuff to b really separate from everything else.
