The Light Behind Your Eyes

"Gerard?" I heard Frank's voice asking me. "What's going on?"
"Where's Mikey?" I replied.
“Gerard..I think maybe you should..“ Frank started. I cut him off though.
“No, I need to talk to Mikey.” I said.

Frank told me Mikey was in his room so I wandered over to his room, where he was sitting on his bed playing on his Nintendo. I grabbed the Nintendo out of his hands and threw in on the floor in frustration.

“Hey! What the fuck man!?” Mikey asked.
“Exactly what I was going to ask. You know how many times I covered for you and lied to Mom and Dad! I covered for you when you snuck off to your friends house or girlfriend’s house, and as soon as you see me do one thing, one thing that I did, you had to go tell Mom and Dad!” I yelled. I’m surprised my voice even went that loud, I was REALLY mad though, what if my parents never let me see Frank again?
“Calm down” Mikey said.
“I can’t calm down! I really, really like Frank and you probably fucked it all up for me!”

I kicked Mikey in the shin and walked back to my bedroom. I didn’t even bother shutting the door I had no secrets to hide anymore, everyone in my house knew everything. I tumbled onto my bed and laid down beside Frank. I was almost going to burst into tears. Why can’t I be with the one I love. I burrowed my head in the crook of Frank’s neck and told him everything my parents said.

“Gee, don’t worry, i’ll always be here even if your parents don’t want us to be together its going to take more than that to stop me.” Frank said as I was cuddled up next to him.

That conversation didn’t end with talking but it ended with a kiss. This was the most intense, passionate kiss I had ever had and it was with Frankie. I brushed his bottom lip with my tongue and explored his mouth. God, this was the best feeling ever. After awhile of kissing Frank pulled away, but he moved to the spot in between my neck and ear. I tried not to make much noise, after all the door was still open. When Frank was done he moved back up to my lips for a little longer until we ended it and stared into each other’s eyes.

“I-I love you” I said to Frank. His face turned a pale shade of red and he smiled slightly.
“I love you too” He replied and with that I fell asleep with Frank in my arms once again.

Sunday was really boring, all we did that day was sleep and work on homework. I don’t remember coming out of my room except for one snack late at night, instead Frank had got the food that day. But now it was Monday and it was time to go back to school. I was afraid of today, after all now Mikey has the power to completely destroy Frank and I at school. I got dressed and walked into the Kitchen. I didn’t even bother to brush my hair today. My mom was in the kitchen so instead of holding a grudge I decided to be nice and forgive her.

“Morning Mom” I said. She turned around and smiled at me but the smile stopped and all the color drained out of her face when her eyes landed on my neck. I think my parents are homophobes.
“Gerard Arthur Way, what is tha-” She said sternly.
“Mom” I replied in the same tone she talked in.
“Morning Mrs. Way” Frankie said.
“Good morning Frank” My mom replied.

I ate breakfast quickly and I walked to the bus stop while holding Frankie’s hand. Ray ran up to the bus stop and Mikey pulled him aside. Oh great probably talking about Frank and I.

When we got to school I looked at my schedule, English. I never really liked English but it’s not the worst subject. I sat down in the same seat I did a week ago, that first day I was here, the first day I met Frankie. It seems like so long ago. Classes today seemed to be going really slow, but I made it to the last period, Art. In art I sat at the small table in the left corner of the room.

“How do you even draw that good?” Frank asked. My cheeks heated up.
“It takes a lot of practice, but thank you” I replied.
“You’re welcome Gee”

After art was done the bell rang and I went to my locker to get my stuff out. It took awhile to get everything. Frank was waiting for me patiently. We got on the bus and Bob and Kalum decided to bug us.

“So, living with Gerard now huh? what are you like married now?” Kalum asked.
“Just ignore them” I whispered.

It seemed like this would be a long ride home.
