The Light Behind Your Eyes
'Cause They Got Methods Of Keeping You Clean.
The sun was a sheen of bright blurred lights which hung in the humid air, as Frank and Gerard made their way down the path which led from school to Gerard's house. The heat was making them curl in on themselves as it hit their vampire characteristics, and Gerard winced as it burned down at his face. Frank thought he looked beautiful, slightly washed out by the light. His hair was getting greasy, but that didn't affect his pretty face, only framing it even better, hanging over his eyes slightly but leaving his upturned pixie nose and his hazel orbs in view. Frank was stunned at the moment by the beauty, and found himself walking painfully slow as he stared.
"Frankie?" Gerard waved a hand in front of his face, smirking at his boyfriend's admiration. He did the best thing he could think of at that moment, and swung a hand under Frank's knees from behind, his other arm behind his back, and lifted him off the ground, cradling him bridal style. Frank squealed as his feet left the pavement, and he squirmed slightly before settling in Gerard's arms, chuckling hysterically. He felt invincible this high, and felt jealous that ordinary people got this view all the time. He'd make the most of his small trip, he told himself. Gerard set off down the road once again, confidently striding his way into the familiar street of houses his house was nestled amongst.
"Fuck off sun!" Gerard yelled into the neighbourhood, sending a woman with a small girl at her side veering off the pavement and protectively pulling her daughter onto the left hand side of the road. Frank recognised her face and couldn't help but laugh out loud, a childish grin spreading across his sun bathed face. That was the woman who had been caught between them and a wall, as Gerard viscously attacked his neck with wet open mouthed kisses. Gerard grinned also, the same realisation making him giggle like a young school girl.
Before long, they were standing at the white plasticky door to Gerard's house, pushing it open and falling into the kitchen, Frank still curled up in Gerard's arms. Donna let out a surprised noise and then smiled, her heart warming at the fact they both looked so happy together. Sure, it wasn't her perfect life she'd had in mind for Gerard, but she'd come to terms with the gay factor of it, and now only saw pride.
"Hello boys!" She looked up from stirring what looked like macaroni cheese in a large pan, clad in an apron and oven gloves. "I need to speak to you" She continued, her face not turning serious though, so Gerard figured it wasn't much.
"Hmmm, sure, but why the big meal?" Gerard had assumed his mother would be using last nights lasagne or a takeaway.
"That's what I need to tell you. We've got your uncle and aunt coming over tonight, for dinner..." She put a tray of baguettes in the oven.
"Wait, which uncle and aunt?" Gerard froze and pulled Frank closer to his chest, where he still sat, listening intently.
"You're... Uncle David and aunt Marie" His mother looked pitiful, saying sorry with her eyes. She returned to dishing out macaroni cheese into a large baking pan.
"Mum! They're the fucking homophobes! Jeez! Who else is coming?" Gerard was panicking big time now, as well as Frank, who tensed at the words homophobes leaving his boyfriend's mouth.
"Your older cousin, their son I mean, Peter, and their two twin teenager daughters, Grace and Emma. You haven't met them before, dear. You were always downstairs in the basement when they came round..." His mother trailed off, looking thoughtfully off into the door pane behind Gerard's head.
"This is not good! Oh fuck...Fucking hell!" Gerard moved his hand up to Frank's ass to secure him, and moved his other arm up to run a hand through his hair. "We're going downstairs. Call me when they're here" Gerard groaned, setting off in the direction of the stairs leading down to his basement. His mother sighed in exasperation, laying the table for 8.
---Time lapse. Gerard has consulted with Mikey, his mother and father to keep quiet about him and Frank being in a relationship. They aren't supposed to say anything about him being gay, nor Frank.---
It was possibly one of the most awkward events for Frank he'd ever had the misfortune to experience. Not only was a he a complete stranger to Gerard's aunt and uncle and his cousins, but he also looked like the biggest freak ever, alongside Gerard, amongst the rest of them. Peter was neat and normal, with brown hair combed back, and a typical boy t shirt, with a flashy print on top of blue cotton, matched with loose fitting denim jeans and trainers. His sisters were wearing dresses, Grace's pink with yellow flowers printed on the thin fabric, and Emma's red, with tiny rabbits patterned on the silk. They had their legs on show, like girls their age should, and wore matching leather sandals with little beads around the top which jangled when they walked in that delicate little way. Gerard's uncle David was wearing a suit, and had the slightly balding head most uncle's possessed, matching his stereotype beige slacks and tan brogues. His wife, Gerard's aunt Marie was wearing a pleated navy blue dress, and a matching pair of navy blue heels, to go with her navy blue necklace of beads and her navy blue headdress. She was the definition of navy blue.
And here sat Frank and Gerard. Frank was clad in a black Iron Maiden t shirt, a loose black hoodie, and black skinny jeans. His hair had recently been dyed black again, so it was piercing dark against his pale skin, bringing out his hazel eyes surrounded in smudged black kohl eyeliner. Gerard looked none the more normal, clad in a black Black Flag t shirt, a black button up shirt over that, and extremely tight skinny jeans, which stuck to his legs and made it hard to move to great lengths. His hair was still greasy, as it hadn't magically cleaned itself between walking home from school and sitting at the table around 20 minutes later, and his eyes were surrounded with reddened skin after forgetting to wash his eyeliner experiment off the night before and sleeping in it. They were quite the pair, sitting together, facing the twins.
"So, Gerard, met any nice girls?" Oh god, Gerard thought, the awkward man to man talk that always sprung up at family reunions.
"Uh, no" He mumbled, scraping his fork absent mindedly around his plate.
"Hmmm, you'd better clean up your act, young man!" His uncle reached over the table and gave him a hearty pat on the arm, sending his somewhat floppy posture to lean forwards in surprise. Frank flinched. Gerard was perfect. How dare he tell him to clean up his act. Bastard.
"I don't think Frank would like that! They might have a little domestic, knowing them! " Mikey laughed, pausing when no one else joined in, all eyes set on him. Oh. Oops.
