The Light Behind Your Eyes

When I woke up this morning I was still in the clothes I was in yesterday. I got up, got dressed and got ready. My morning routine was the same every day, get up, get ready, eat food and get out the door. When Mikey and I were at the bus stop we had small conversations that I didn't really take seriously until one about Frank came up.

"So how's that Frank kid?" Mikey asked.
"He's cool" I replied, I didn't know Frank really well but he seemed like a really nice person.
"I think he likes you, I can tell when people like each other." Mikey said out of nowhere.

Honestly I was shocked by this, maybe he meant just as a friend. Anyway I didn't answer, I just stood there and pretty soon Ray walked up. Mikey and Ray were talking and I was just standing there in silence. When the bus pulled up I pushed past Ray and Mikey and ran onto the bus, taking my seat. There's never anyone else on the bus because our stop is the first so really we could sit wherever. I just stared out my window until we were near the next stop.

~Frank's POV~
When I was at the bus stop my two friends, Bob and Kalum were getting pretty angry at me. They were a lot bigger than me, so generally it wasn't good to piss them off.

"Weren't WE supposed to hang out last night at my place?" Kalum asked.
"Well other plans came up, sorry about that." I replied.
"whatever" Kalum said.

A couple minutes later the bus pulled up and I sat down next to Gerard.

"Hey" I said as I sat down in the seat.
"Hi, Frank" he replied.
"Whatcha doing?" I asked staring down at his sketch pad. It was obvious as to what he was doing I just wanted to talk to him.
"Just drawing" he replied.

There was quite a bit of awkward silence, I looked at him and then at the floor, searching for conversation topics.

"You left me to clean up everything last night!" I said, playfully punching his shoulder.
"Oh well sorry, it's not my fault I have a curfew" he replied exremely sassily.
"Haha, don't worry about it, it wasn't that hard." I said back.

When we got to school we got off the bus and I got lost in the sea of people. I think it might be better if your taller sometimes, that way you can actually see where your going. My first period was Science and that was with Gerard. I think I'm getting too attached to him, or I might like him. No, Frank that's crazy. I stepped inside the class room and took a seat at one of the empty desks.

The teacher introduced herself and in the middle of her telling us what we will be doing throughout this year a very confused looking Gerard walked in. It was obvious he didn't know where he was going, because he is new here. He sat down next to me.

"This school is like a fucking maze." Gerard said.
I laughed, "yeah it kind of is" I replied.

During science we didn't really learn anything, the teacher thought it would be a good idea to talk through the whole class so the bell rang in mid sentence. The next class I had was Math. I sat down and Kalum came and sat next to me.

"You seem to want to hang out with that Gerald kid a lot." Kalum said.
"It's Gerard," I said "and yeah he's pretty cool"
"Well then." Kalum replied

It it was kind of strange to admit this but I think I might actually like Gerard.
