The Light Behind Your Eyes
Well I Hope You Do The Same
I woke up in the morning before Frankie and got his present and cake out and then I woke him up.
"Good morning Frank" I said. He sat up in bed and rubbed his eyes.
"Morning Gee" he replied, turning his head to look at the clock which read 9:23. "Shit! Gee, why didn't you wake me up?" He yelled.
"Frank calm down, its Saturday." I laughed.
We walked to the living room where I saw my mom sitting there already. I sat down on the love seat next to Frank and pulled out the bag I was hiding behind the couch. My mom wished Frank a happy birthday as I handed him his present. He opened it with a shocked look on his face.
"Woah! No way!" He said holding up the shirt I bought him. I nodded my head. He took out the guitar strap and went crazy again. "Thank you, Gee" He said, pulling me into a hug.
"No problem" I replied.
For breakfast we didn't have normal breakfast food, cereal, toast. Nope. We had cake. Later Mikey walked into the kitchen and took a huge piece of vanilla cake. I decided on taking Frank out for the day and I had a party planned for later. We walked around our small town, it was fall so all the leaves were orange and falling on the ground, it was really nice.
"Hey look!" Frank said pointing at a coffee shop.
We both went inside and ordered our drinks. I got one that was Tim Hortons brewed and it was damn good. Today while walking past most stores you could see people frantically looking around to buy a last minute Halloween costume. I got to peacefully walk around with Frank.
We came home around lunch time.
"I can make lunch if you want" Frank offered.
"No, I'm not letting you cook. Remember the 'flippy thing' incident?" I replied.
"Oh yeah!" Frank exclaimed and started laughing.
"Laugh all you want now, it wasn't funny when we had to put bandaids on each finger!" I yelled back.
I made perogies and shovelled them onto two separate plates for me and Frank. I didn't know how to make perogies but I didn't fail, it just took me about an hour and a half.
I got Mikey to take Frank to the city to run 'errands' so I could get the party set up. I placed out decorations and snacks. It wasn't going to be much of a party at all but Frank's closest friends would be there. Ray, Mikey and I. I still didn't know what I should dress up as but I decided on covering my face in pale white makeup and making myself look as dead as possible. A vampire would be good right?
Apparently the plan was to ditch Frank in the city so Mikey would have the time to come back and Ray would have time to get here.
"Gerardddd!" Frank called when he stepped inside my house. "You're brother left me stranded with just enough money for a bus ride home!"
He turned on the lights and Mikey, Ray and I jumped out. Cliché, I know but I wanted to surprise him.
"Happy birthday!" I said and I hugged him.
I got my parents out of the house and they went out for the night. So all of us were alone, but we wouldn't mess anything up, right?
Every few minutes we would hear the doorbell go off, indicating little kids begging for candy. So to solve the problem I placed a bowl of halloween candy on the front doorstep.
Basically all night we hung around and watched horror movies that were playing on TV. Ray stayed the night but when I woke up in the morning he was gone. And so was our clean living room, four guys and a bunch of snacks can really mess things up. There were bags and cans all over the place and for sure by now, my parents had seen the mess.
I cleaned up with Mikey as fast as we could and without waking Frank up too, who fell asleep on the couch. Eventually Frank woke up, but it was right after we were done cleaning so I wondered if it was if he didn't want to clean up everything.
"Hey" He said.
"Hi" I replied.
"Thanks, it was probably the best birthday I'd had in a long time" Frank said to me.
"No problem" I replied smiling. "Now if you excuse me I'm about to pass out so I'm going to take a nap for however long"
