The Light Behind Your Eyes

~Frank’s POV~

The rest of the drive back to Gerard’s house was boring. We were both quiet but I caught Gerard looking at me a couple times. I stepped out of the car and pulled down the sleeves of my hoodie attempting to cover up most of the spots I had gotten. Gerard opened the door to his house and I followed him. He grabbed me and pulled me into a kiss. He placed his hands on my hips and I laced my hands through his hair. Gerard started tugging on my lip ring, which made me gasp. He licked over my bottom lip and I parted my lips. Pretty soon, we both heard a cough come from behind me. Gerard pulled away and looked to see who was there.

“Afternoon Frank.” Gerard’s dad said. I turned a bright red and Gerard grabbed my arm. I winced in the pain but it didn’t last long.
“C’mon Frankie” Gerard said, tugging me down the hallway. I followed Gerard to his room and sat on his bed, he came and sat down next to me.
“Frank, can you take your hoodie off?” He asked me.

I shrugged and peeled the black hoodie over my head, which revealed new bruises and a whole bunch of old scars I have. The purple marks were all over my arms and went under the sleeves of my shirt. There weren’t any new cuts, just a whole bunch of bruises.

“All he does is beat me, never anything nice. Not even on my birthday” I said.
“I’m not letting you go back over there, I’m sorry I just can’t” Gerard said grabbing my hand.

Gerard brought me an ice pack and I placed it on my face, hoping to make some marking and swelling go down. I remember falling asleep, when I woke up it was around seven o’clock. Gerard woke up too and he turned his head to look at me.

“You good?” He asked.
“Yeah” I replied.

Gerard sat himself up and looked at me for a while. I looked into his deep green-hazel eyes and he looked back into mine. Gerard moved close to me and pulled me into a deep kiss. This time I was sitting on his lap, I had my arms around his neck and he had his on my hips. He licked my bottom lip and moved his tongue around my mouth. Soon Gerard was lifting up the bottom of my shirt. He tugged it over my head and threw it on the floor somewhere. I did the same. Gerard had changed how we were sitting, this time he was hovering over top of me and I was lying on his bed. Gerard tugged on my pants and threw them to the other side of the room, leaving me only in boxers. He started kissing my neck which made me groan.

“Gee!” I gasped.

He smirked and moved back up to my lips, pulling on my lip piercing. Soon I thought I heard a knock at the door.

“Ge-Gerard I heard a knock” I said between breaths.
“Frankie, I didn’t hear anything, you are probably imagining things” He replied.

I ignored the sound that came from the wooden door and continued kissing Gerard. The door clicked open and Gerard and I looked up to see who it was.

“Why the fuck does this always happen?” Gerard whispered to me.
“GERARD ARTHUR WAY.” Gerard’s dad was standing there, yelling at both of us.
“Dad, chill out” Gerard said, raising his hands as if we were under attack. Which we kind of were, but you know.
“No. Frank is going home immediate...” His voice got quieter when his eyes moved to my arms, and my chest, and my legs, and my face. “What the fuck are those from?” His dad asked, pointing at all the bruises I had.
“My dad.” I said avoiding eye contact.
“I-I’m sorry Frank” Gerard’s dad continued.

He apologized for yelling at us, but he told us to cut it out. After that Gerard’s dad left. Nothing else happened that night, I fell asleep soon after that and I’m sure Gerard did too. I woke up in the morning and was sore and aching. Gerard and I had breakfast and after that we ran out the door and to the bus stop. Ray was there waiting for Mikey, they started talking about some video games.

Our first class was music and Gerard and I curled up in our normal place in the back of the room. I took out my guitar and started picking at the strings. Soon that Lyn-z girl started making her way over to Gerard and I. This time with her friends.
