Hell or High Water

The Memory (pt. 1)

When Frank opened his eyes he was in room that looked as if it belonged to a six year old. Comics and action figures were strew all over the navy blue carpet along with crayons and coloring books. This room brought a boom of nostalgia to Frank even though he couldn't quite put his finger on the reason as to why. While pondering on the site around him he heard loud familiar giggling from what he assumed was the backyard of this 'mystery' house. He needed to figure out where he was. The last thing that happened before he closed his eyes was- shit Frank couldn't remember what happened before he ended up in this place.

"Shit." he muttered after finally getting off the ground of this 'mystery' child's floor.

Everything is such a mystery to him yet he feels like he knows where he is. He walked up to the small, messy bed that was in the corner of the room. While examining it he saw a Hellboy comic buried underneath the tussled, soft-looking blankets that was in a heap on the bed. Hellboy used to be on of his favorite comic books as a kid. He would even pretend to be the fictional superhero himself and run around without a care in the world. Frank missed those days, he wanted them back. He took them for granted and never appreciated them for what they were; simple. Frank wanted his life to be simple again, he'd give anything for it to be. Anything just to go back. Before Frank knew what he was doing, he reached out to grab the comic.

What the fuck.

He tried grabbing the comic again but it just did the same thing.
His hand went straight through the book. Frank was confused for the first five minutes of trying to pick of the insignificant yet somehow important book but soon he was huffing and stomping. After what seemed like ages of just Frank jabbing his hand into the book he decided to try to see if he could pick anything else up.
The same series of event just happened over and over but with different miscellaneous objects around the room. Soon Frank was throwing a tantrum. Not one like you'd see a four year old throwing at Walmart over a toy they couldn't get but one equivalent to an old man not being able to find his oh so precious dentures. This was a site to see. After Frank's little outburst he decided to explore the rest of this 'mystery' house and maybe even figure out the continuous giggling coming from the backyard.
Just as Frank was about to open the door and exit the room he heard a giggly voice from the backyard that made him stop dead in his tracks.

"Tag, you're it Fwankie!"
