This Is The Best Day Ever

Colossal

~Gerard's POV~

The shrill cry of my alarm clock awoke me from my slumber. I bolted upright in my bed, my sweat coated skin peeling away from the sheets. I rubbed my hands over my face, then proceeded to rub the sleep from my eyes, causing fuzzy shapes to momentarily disrupt my vision.

I peeled open my now sleep free eyes, and blinked a few times, trying to adjust my eyes to the light. A beam if bright, golden sunlight coming from the tiny window in the corner sliced through my room, informing me that today was going to be warm for the first time in months.

Running my hand through my hair, which desperately needed washing, I sluggishly threw back the covers and climbed out of the warm confinement of my bed. My feet hit the floor, and I stood up and stretched, hearing my back and arms give out a couple of satisfying pops.

As I was crossing my room to go to my dresser, there came and urgent knock on my worn out wooden door.
"Who is it?" I called out, my voice still husky from sleep.
"Who do you think, asshat." Called back Mikey, pushing open the door without my permission.
"What do you want, brother?" I was so not in the mood for his unusually bubbly nature today.
"Sheesh, calm down! Don't you know what day it is today?"

For a moment, I didn't understand what he meant - but then it hit me. A sudden wave of despair and anger flooded through me, and I subconsciously curled my fists into tight, white balls. I was so not ready for this.

"Mikey, please leave." I tried to keep my voice steady, but I felt as though I was on the verge of having a breakdown.
"But, wha-" He managed to stammer out before I cut him off.
"I said leave!" He flinched from the venom in my voice, and slowly backed away from me, and out of the door, shutting the door quietly on his way out so that he didn't anger me further.

I looked down at the stupid locket hanging round my neck like a noose.

4 hours, 17 minutes, 6 seconds.

-
~Frank's POV~

4 hours, 17 minutes, 6 seconds.

I snapped the locket shut between my fingers. I was so freaking nervous for today. Where would I be in four hours time? I counted forward four hours in my head.

It would be lunchtime. So that means - the cafeteria? Guess I'd avoid there today then. I'm really not ready for this, but I'll guess I'll just suck it up.
-
~Gerard's POV~
However angry I may be, I can't help but feel a little bit excited in the back of my mind.

What will they look like? Will they have good music taste? How old will they be? Will I already know them? And most importantly, will they be a guy or a girl?

I mean c'mon, it's hardly a secret that I'm not completely straight. I guess I wouldn't really mind if it was a girl, because I guess I could just get used to it. I'd kinda prefer it if they were a guy though.

Whoever they are, in a few hours time I'll be stuck with them for the rest of my life.
-
~Frank's POV~
By this time I was in Chemistry, but I wasn't really paying any attention - it's a waste of my time anyway.
There's only two hours to go, and I'm practically shitting myself with nerves.

I scanned my eyes across the classroom, and made eye contact with Mikey. He knew today was today, but he seemed kinda on edge, like he knew who my partner is or something, and he's just not telling me.
That's virtually impossible though, you never know who you're going to be paired with.

The bell echoed around the school, signally the end of the lesson; next I had art.

Just one more hour to go, and the wait is killing me.
-
As I headed away from English, I passed Mikey and Frank in the corridor. Mikey shot me a glare, and then look pointedly at Frank, like he was trying to tell me something. What?

I was about to stop him and ask him what he meant, but I got shoved along the corridor by the sea of students who were all trying to get to their next class.
-
My skin broke out into a cold, nervous sweat as I pushed open the doors to the cafeteria. I wiped my brow with the back of my sleeve, and walked towards the table that me and Mikey sat at in the corner.
I placed my head in my hands and stared at the table, tugging at my hair with nerves.
I was thrown out of my daydream when Mikey slammed his satchel down on the table and took the seat across from me.

The hum of excited chatter and the clashing of cutlery sounded in the background. I was practically hyperventilating.
"Iero, are you okay?" Mikey sounded unsure.
I looked up at him, giving him a stiff nod and a very weak smile.
"How's your timekeeper going?" He asked.

I grasped it in my hand and opened it up.

Two minutes.

"I-It's going g-great - I'm sorry. I need a moment." And with that, I stood up from the table and sprinted towards the doors as fast as my legs would carry me.
-
I had been counting down for the past five minutes.

"3, 2,1-" I muttered under my breath.

"Um, h-hello."

I'd know that voice anywhere..

Shit.
