To the End
Give Up or Give it a Shot
Fuck school. I don't need to go, right? I can just stay home. Maybe I can practice guitar... Anything is better than going back. Frank thought to himself as he walked to school at lunch, knowing he'd get at least a half day. Why do I have to come to school... Because mom would get upset, l know, but I can make a living for myself some other way, right? I don't totally have to be like a doctor or some shit like that. I'm just going to get like beat up or something anyway.
Frank tried sneaking past all of the staff, though bumped into one of the teachers on his way in.
“Mr. Iero?” the teacher asked as he looked down at Frank.
Frank froze. “Y-yes?” he said slowly and quietly, realizing he was the only one the teachers wouldn't recognize, which practically labeled him as the new kid.
“I didn't see you in history this morning, or for the past two days.” The teacher said as he gave Frank a stern look. “Might I ask why you've been gone?”
“Uh... well, sir, I've just.. I've just had some issues at home, My first day here was only my second day in the state, so I've been really busy unpacking...”
“I don't see any reason as to why you would skip school.”
“It puts off my sleep schedule, I go to sleep at five in the morning and wake up six hours later...”
The teacher gave a slight sigh. “Well, don't let this happen more, do you hear me? I'll let it slide just this once, but consider this a warning, Mr. Iero.”
“Th-thank you, sir.” Frank said, giving the teacher a smile before running off to find his next class. He found his class quickly and realized, with a smile, that it was art class. He knew Gerard was taking this class. He started to fantasize about seeing Gerard, his heart beating faster with each moment that he thought of them being together. He walked into the room and found a seat. He looked around the room, examining the large wooden tables with various colors splashed and scribbled across them. Each stool was decorated with a painting on the seat, most were, in Frank's eyes at least, incredibly beautiful and well painted.
Gerard walked in a few minutes later, his face lighting up as soon as his eyes landed on Frank. He made his way over to Frank and sat down next to him, squeezing his hand lightly under the table. “You have no idea how much seeing you has made my day.” He told Frank.
“What happened? You've only been here for like... three hours after you left my house.” Frank asked, slightly worried.
“I don't even know, Frankie. People are just douches, okay?” He said, sounding slightly annoyed, though Frank knew it wasn't because of him.
Frank's hand found Gerard's and he intertwined their fingers as he looked at Gerard, noticing a cut in his lip as well as a few on his face. “Oh Gee, believe me, I know people are. I hope you know if I could I'd take you far away from this place, we could just be with each other, no one else to ruin everything.” Frank hesitated for a moment. “A-and... maybe someday I will take you far out there, I'll save you from them and your self-destruction.” He felt Gerard's grip around his hand tighten a little. He saw a smile stretch across Gerard's face, making him smile as well.
“Oh Frankie...” Gerard said, his voice shaking as he spoke. “Why can't the world be full of good people like you?” He looked up slightly, though his hair still covered most of his face.
Frank saw tears welling up in Gerard's eyes and he gently touched a hand to his sliced up cheek.
But of course, even the best moments last for only moments. As soon as his fingers touched Gerard's face, the door swung open, making Frank jump and drop his arm. He looked up, seeing what he never wanted to see again- Lyn-Z. Gerard immediately looked down, not wanting to see her. He knew he was being used by Lyn-Z and he even still had feelings for her, but he needed to get past them now. He wanted to have feelings for only Frank, but why did Lyn-Z have to keep getting in the way? Frank sunk back in his chair slightly as she looked over at the pair, before walking over.
“Hi Gee-Bear~” she said to Gerard, who looked completely uncomfortable.
“Uh.. Hey, Lyn.” He said quietly, squeezing Frank's hand under the table.
“So you wanna come to my house later, sexy~?” She asked him as Frank's eyes widened. Gerard's grip on Frank's hand tightened.
“No, sorry Lyn. I don't think we should do this anymore, we broke up, we're totally over. We can't keep doing this.”
“Aw, come on, you gotta gimme some Gee time~” she protested, leaning across the table and kissing his cheek, making his entire body tense up.
“Lyn..” He said quietly, intertwining Frank and his fingers before holding their hands up over the table. “I'm sort of taken.”
