Mikey's P.O.V.

I woke up in my bed, covered with blankets. I didn't quite remember what had happened last night. The last thing I knew, dad was hitting me and kicking me, then Gerard was in my room telling me he was gone. Frightened, I walked out into the living room, expecting dad to be there. But he wasn't. I walked into the kitchen to see Gerard drinking a cup of coffee.
"Where's dad?" I asked.
"He's gone. And he's not coming back." He said without looking at me.
"Gone? W-What do you mean... Gone?"
"I made him leave. He wasn't going to hurt us anymore." He said, still focusing on his cup.
"Oh my God, Gerard! What if he comes back? W-What's mom going to say?" I reached up and pushed my hair back with both of my hands.
"Well, he won't. Not as long as I'm here. I promised I would be more of a big brother to you. I need to protect you, or... Or something worse could happen. And I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to you that I couldn't take back." He stared at me, waiting for a reaction. "And as for mom," He continued. "Mom's going to thank me. She wanted him gone more than anyone. She just never knew how to do it.
"My fucking God..." I said before walking into the bathroom. I took off my shirt and stared at the cuts and bruises on my body. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and dialed Selena's number.
"Hello?" She asked from the other end.
"You're good with makeup, right?"

I hissed as she poured hydrogen peroxide on my cuts.
"Sorry." She said. "I still can't believe he did this to you. A grown man. To a teenage boy."
"I know. Gerard got rid of him. I don't know how, but he's not coming back for a while." She took a circular sponge and wiped some foundation on my black eye.
"Well that's good." She added before placing more make up on my face.
"Thank's for doing this. It means a lot." I said.
"Considering what happened, this is the least I could do." She kissed my cheek and stood up.
"There. That's the best I could do." I looked in the mirror to see my black eye gone and only a few cuts showing.
"The best? This looks great!" I said before pulling her in for a kiss. "Thank you." She kissed me again.
"Hey we're going to be late for the bus if we don't get going now." She said. I grabbed my bag and jacket and followed her out the door. When we got on the bus, Gerard looked at me surprised.
"Dude, what happened to your face? It was so jacked up and now it's... Not." He said.
"Well I happen to have a girlfriend who is great in make up." I smirked.
"So... You're wearing girls make up? What are you, a princess?" Ray laughed.
"Shut up!" I threw a piece of wadded up paper at his head to make him close his mouth.

Selena's P.O.V.

I walked into first period almost late, but ten seconds earlier than the bell.
"Fine luck, Ms Selena." Mrs. Rockmen called out before starting the class.
"Did you start the vocab list?" I whispered to Gerard. Mrs. Rockmen was still talking but I didn't really mind. Gerard's eyes widened.
"No..." He looked around.
"You what?! You had all night!" I whispered back.
"Well considering what happened last night, I didn't get to it!" I hadn't thought about that.
"You're right. I'm sorry. I guess we'll just have to start it in class." I whispered back before opening my notebook and ignoring Gerard until we had to work together.
