You're Beautiful To Me.

I walked through the halls terrified. Jamie's words echoed in my head. Everyone knows who you are. I felt over exposed like in those dreams where you come to school naked. I walked into first period to see Gerard sitting in his seat first, as always. I sat down in my usual spot and the bell rung.
"One of these days you're going to have to tell me how you get here so fast." I said.
"In your dreams, sister." He smirked.
"Alright class, settle down." Mrs. Rockmen shouted over the noise. The class was quiet in a matter of seconds.
"Alright. Now we're going to do a project. A group project." The class cheered, but I stayed silent. I didn't know anyone in the class except Gerard, and Lord knows everyone would want to be his partner. All the girls fawned over him.
"Now, considering how well you guys did on you last group project, I'm going to let you pick your partners again. Good luck." She said before sitting back down at her desk. "Once you have a partner, stand by them." Everyone stood up and ran to other people to get their partner. I looked around the room for anyone.
"Wanna be my partner?" A voice came behind me. I turned around to see Gerard standing there.
"Uhm. Sure." There was no one else to be partners with, and I didn't hate him, so why not?
"Great." We stood beside each other and waited.

Lunch came and like any other day, I didn't want to eat. I made my way to the bleachers outside and sat down on the very top one. The silence was sweet and the air was pure. I closed my eyes and rested my head on the backboard, letting my hair fall back and out of my face.
"This seat taken?" A voice came from beside me. I lifted one eyelid and saw it was Mikey.
"No." I said plainly and closed my eyes again. He sat down close to me and I rested my head on his shoulder.
"I'm so tired." I whined. He draped his arm around me and pulled me in closer, planting a kiss on the top of my head.
"Yeah, me too. I didn't sleep well last night." He said.
"I'm sorry I was being a bitch." I took one hand out of my pocket and grabbed his.
"No, no. You weren't being a bitch. You were just frustrated." His voice was soothing. We were quiet for a few minuets until he spoke again.
"Why do you sit out here?" He asked.
"I don't know. It's quiet? I like quiet." He nodded. The bell rung, signalling the end of lunch. I kissed his cheek and said goodbye before heading to science. We didn't have a seating chart in science so It was always a challenge finding where I was going to sit. I walked in and saw Jamie waving to me. There was an empty seat next to him so I took that one. Maybe I was finally going to have a friend.
"Hey, long time no see." He laughed. I smiled at him and got out my notebook.
"Hey, same here." I smirked.
"Were you okay yesterday? You seemed a bit... Sick." He asked.
"Yeah. Yeah, I was fine. I had just had some, uh, bad food." I lied. It was a bit odd making friends. I had never really done it before, and didn't really know how. I met Nic when I was about three. I was a lot more out going then. She introduced me to Adam in the sixth grade when we were in math together. Then came Trent in eighth when he was the new kid and Nic wanted to be polite and have him sit with us. They weren't the kind of friends I had to make. They just kind of fell into place. But with Jamie, I had to try. The bell rung and the teacher dismissed us to do our individual work. I looked at him and studied him for a bit. His dark hair fell over his eyes and he looked different than anyone else, though I couldn't place how. After I had realized I had been staring at him for a creepily long time, I went back to my work. We talked for a while and I laughed at all his jokes. He was more funny than he looked. By the time the period was over, my side hurt from laughing to hard.
"Hand me your arm real quick." He said. I did so and he got out a sharpie. When he was done writing on me, I looked at the numbers sprawled across my arm.
"It's my number. You should text me sometime." The bell rung and we said our goodbyes as we walked different directions. I walked through the halls clutching my books and still feeling sick from Jamie's comment.
