Boy Division

"I love you.."
I felt the urge to say it. I left it there hanging. It was okay if she didn't hear me or say it back. I awoke to find her , laying on me. Her head was on my chest and her little hand held onto my shirt. I had my arms around her comforting body and I could feel her breathing easy. I scuffled around trying not wake her little mind. I failed.

She moaned and looked around. "Morning sunshine!" I said trying to make her smile. This time I succeeded.
She looked at me with smiling eyes. "Morning." She said softly and sleepily.
"What do you want to do today?" I said to her. She needed to get out of the house. I could tell. "Lay here with you..." She thought, but I knew what she wanted and what she needed.
"Hmm.." She started, "Take me to New York." She looked up at me again and smiled mischievously. She was being serious too.
"Well, you better get dressed now. It will take awhile." I smiled and sat up. She looked at me with her brilliant blue eyes, her eyes smiled with her lips. Her beautiful... Lips...

She jumped out of bed and pushed me out so she could get dressed. I walked into the kitchen to find Mona's mom waiting on her coffee to be done.. Mmm coffee..

"Oh Gerard! You're here!" She said as she saw me walk in.
"Hi, Ms. May." I said and she flinched at the name.
"Please, call me Monroe." She smiled. Just like Mona.
"Okay. " I smiled, trying to make myself look not so nervous.
"Do you want some coffee? It's almost done."
"Oh yes please!" I said with excitement, rubbing my hands together.
She poured me a cup and I sipped. Mona came out in a pair of light grey skinny jeans, an old Black Flag tee, and a grayish jacket. "Hey Madre!" She said surprised to see her mom awake, but most of all to see us drinking coffee and making small talk.
"Good morning sunshine." Her mom said back to her.
"So, Gee and I are going into the city today, okay?"
"You know it's Sunday?" Her mother asked her.
"I, am aware, yes?" She replied as she looked like she was jumping on clouds, stomping and marching in the clouds... Hey..
"Okay, well I hope you know when I want you two home."
"Again, I, am aware." They giggled together. I loved her giggle.. Wait.. Us two?

Mona grabbed me away from my mostly finished coffee and we said our good byes. We got in my car and drove. Tonight, would be perfect.

I hoped you liked this chapter. I didn't like that it was so short. But I can barely keep my eyes open.
