Everything Will Be Ok

Both Brooke and I panicked as we began to hear heavy footsteps walking towards the living room.Expecting to see one of her parents, I was in shock to see that instead a young, teenage boy had entered the house. When he turned to walk into the room that we were in, his eyes widened in shock as he shrieked. “Mother of God! Brooke!” The boy then began to cover his eyes as I covered my crotch with my clothes. “Nathan! What is all the yelling about?” I heard Brooke’s mother say as she walked in through from the garage. “Nothing ma.” He replied. “Both of you, get upstairs now before ma and pa see you!” He whispered as we darted up the stairs, with nothing but our clothes to cover only some parts of our body. Once we headed upstairs, we ran into her room as we shut the door behind us. I was now huffing and puffing as Brooke looked over at me with apologetic eyes. “I thought your parents were going to be gone all night?” I asked, throwing on my shirt and slipping on my jeans. “That’s what they told me. I guess there was a change in plans or something. I’m really sorry I got u into this mess.” She said frowning. “It’s alright, as long as your parents hadn’t seen us.” I replied, causing her to giggle. “Who was that guy that walked in on us? Is he a friend or cousin or something?” I furrowed my eyebrows. “Nah he’s my stepbrother.” She explained. “Oh…well do you think he’s going to blab about us to your parents?” She shook her head. “No…he’s cool…” I bit my lip nervously. “Do you think he…uh…you know…saw anything?” I mumbled quietly. “I doubt it. And if he did, he probably wouldn’t care, since this isn’t the first time that it has happened.” My face grew hot with jealousy. “What is that supposed to mea-“Before I could finish what I was saying, there was a slight knock at the door. “Brooke? Are you two presentable? Cause I’m coming in. “She then frantically threw on her clothes. “Yeah you can come in…” She yelled back.

The same boy I had just seen a few minutes ago had entered. “You guys are so lucky I was there to see you before one of them did.” He chuckled. “Yeah, dude I owe you one.” She replied, playfully punching him in the arm. The boy then brought his gazes back to me. “So who is the new one?” He asked causing me to stumble over my words. “I’m uh-“Brooke cut me off. “This is Mikey, my boyfriend.” She explained, motioning towards me. “Thought so. Nice to meet you Mikey.” He said, reaching out to shake my hand. “You can call me Mikey or Michael if you want…”It was obvious that I was uncomfortable by the tone of my voice. “How bout I call you Mikes. Would that be ok with you?” I nodded. “Yeah that’s cool. My brother calls me that.” I did my best to stay cool. “Well I’m Nathan, Brooke’s half-brother…”Yeah I heard. “He then brought his focus back to Brooke. “So what number is this one?” He teased with a large smirk spreading across his face. “Oh shut up Nathan!” She spat. He giggled. “Alright well I’m gonna head downstairs now to go help ma out with dinner, I’ll see you two later! And please try to keep your clothes on…thanks.” My face flushed. “Whatever.” Brooke said, rolling her eyes.
