Maybe They'll Leave You Alone But Not Me
Help Me.
Around midnight, I began to gather what little I had. I stuffed a couple of t-shirts and a pair of skinny jeans into my backpack along with my razor blades, blanket, mp3 player, headphones, and the couple hundred dollars I stole from my foster dad's secret stash. If I hurry, I can get out and clear a couple of miles before he comes for me, I thought. I quietly slipped into my worn converses and snuck through the house. I checked in the kitchen to see if he had gotten up for midnight snack. He no where to be seen. As I disabled the alarm, I heard a shuffling upstairs.
"Shit.", I whispered.I flung open the door and closed it as quietly as I could before turning and running as fast as I could. I stopped at the end of the driveway just as I heard the front door open behind me. I turned for a split second, only to see my foster dad barreling towards me. I turned back around and took off as if my life depended on it. I ran and soon my lungs began to burn. I continued on until I thought I was going to pass out. I stopped near a wood line and rested while I searched for signs of him still following me. He never showed, so I went at it again running to the park that once made me happy. I ran and ran scared to be caught and punished and used again. My vision began to have dark spots in it but I continued to run. Just as I rounded the corner, barely breathing, I hit a person, knocking both of us to the ground. All I heard was " What the hell.." before losing consciousness.
******GERARD'S POV************
I was upset and hurt. Helena was gone. My grandmother; the only person who ever showed me love after being kicked out. Now, I were on our own in the world. So, I shoved my feet into my converse and went for a walk. There was a park not too far from my house. As the cool night hit my face, I walked down the street, thinking of all the memories we had. She taught me how to play guitar and was my hero. Now, she was gone. Mikey was coming over tomorrow, the only person in the family I kept in touch with, to check on me. He'd find my new cuts among my old scars and scold me for not calling him instead of resorting to my own methods. Grief consumed me as I continued to walk. It was quiet and relaxed me as I walked around the bend to my favorite bench in the park. Right as I was coming around the bend, I was struck to the ground.
My head hit the ground hard and I was momentarily stunned.
"What the hell? Watch where you're....going."
She was unconscious. This girl was utterly beautiful. Silver hair went down past her shoulders and she was sporting a black t-shirt and red skinny jeans. I got up and rubbed the ache at the back of my head. She had a black backpack strapped to her, but no phone. I couldn't just leave her, so I gathered her into my arms and brought her back to my house. Once I got her inside and into my guest bedroom, I took off her backpack and shoes. I tucked the covers around her and then went to my room, closing the door behind me. I took off my shoes and pants, replacing them with sweats. Climbing into bed, I began to see her behind my eyelids. "She'll be gone by tomorrow Gerard; get over it." I whispered as I drifted off to sleep.
Notes
This is my first story, so offer any suggestions as to what I should do/ if you like it. Sorry about the short first chapter! More to come!
@Atomic Hydrogen
