Never Coming Home

Lucia's Pov
The basement wasn't that bad, the occasional rat or two but it was quite comfy. It didn't feel like I was a maid. It felt like Gerard and I were simply housemates. He was surprisingly neat, I didn't have much work to do.
I just made our meals, washed the dishes, and the laundry basically. I was like the average housewife. Oh my, no, but of course I wasn't a wife.
A knock came at the door, with a "LUCIA?!" following it. "WHAT?!" I screamed back at the door. "I, uh, I have some people I want you to meet." The door, or rather Gerard replied. I sighed and climbed out of bed, getting dressed.
I think Gerard and I have a built a pretty decent relationship over the past year I have been working here. *a year already oh snap* We were like best friends, or siblings, perhaps more, but not in a romantic way, gosh no.
I climbed up the stairs and opened the door, walking into the living room, where I found Gerard and two others sitting on the couches. I sat beside a man, who looked to be about Gerard's age, as Gerard was sitting next to a woman, who looked younger then I am, on the couch across from us.
Gerard cleared his throat. "Frank, Mary, this is my maid, Lucia." he explained. I was a bit shocked, he never referred to me as his maid. These people must be important to him, maybe he wants to make a good impression, I need to play along.
"Pleasant to meet you sir, ma'am." I said, smiling and nodding toward both of them. They nodded back at me, Frank smirking, but Mary with a scowl.
Frank turned toward me, eyeing me up and down, "So, Lucia, when did you start working here?" he asked. "A-about one y-year ago." I replied, struggling not to stutter seeing as he was basically eye raping me now.
Gerard coughed gaining the attention of us all. "So Lucia, Frank and I are working on some business, but his sister Mary and I are, well, seeing each other." he told me, while putting his arm around Mary, she smiled up at him. Oh. I sat there looking around the room awkwardly for a while.
"Well what are you waiting for maid? Go make us some tea." Mary demanded. "Yes ma'am" I scoffed. "Hey! Know your place maid!! Gerard, aren't you going to do something about this?" Mary whined. Gerard looked at me and nodded his head toward the kitchen. I raised my eyebrows at him but went nonetheless.
I put on the kettle and got the tea set out when I heard someone approaching the kitchen. I turned my head to look at none other then Gerard. I looked back at the tea set and went to get the actual tea out of the cupboard, ignoring him.
"Lucia?" he asked. I scoffed. "Yes sir?" I replied. "…you know I prefer you call me Gerard." he said. "I'm sure Mary wouldn't like that very much." I told him. I heard him sigh. "I don't actually fancy Mary, I'm using her to get to Frank." he explained.
At this I spun around to face him. "And thats any better?! She does fancy you Gerard!! And you're just using her for business purposes?! You sick bastard." I ranted. I saw Gerard's face turn angry, very angry.
I guess I had what happened next coming to me. He raised his hand and slapped me hard across the face. "Know your place maid. Don't forget you work for me." He said. I did what was a mixture of a scoff and a wince, which didn't sound pleasant.
"Not for long, I'll be gone in a day." I told him. "You don't have anybody. Where will you go? Back to Bob?" he asked. "I'd much rather be abused by somebody I hate rather then be abused by somebody I love." I explained.
He gasped slightly. Shoot. That word that ruins everything. Love. "Lucia, I-I'm so sorry, I d-didn't realize" he started, but I didn't let him finish. No, I interrupted. "Make that gone in a minute" I said, as I turned to walk out the front door in silence, the only sound being the whistling of the kettle. I didn't even look back.
