The Light Behind Your Eyes

Gerard's POV
I woke up with a pounding headache and the driest mouth. As I rolled over in my empty bed the memories for last nights sexcapades with Izzy flooded my mind. It took me a minute to determine whether or not we really had sex or if it was just a dream, I definitely remember us falling asleep together...either way right now I was alone in bed. Great, now i've fucking blown it. I threw on my sweatpants and made my way upstairs where I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful aroma of bacon and eggs. What is happening? My parent's are away and Mikey can't cook for shit. I walk into the kitchen and see Izzy standing at the hob frying some eggs with Lana and Mikey sitting at the kitchen table. I was instantly relieved that she was still here but also so fucking nervous for how awkward this day was going to be. But damn, she looked so hot with sex hair and wearing my metallica t-shirt, I could get used to waking up to this.
"Morning everyone"
"Sleeping beauty's finally awake?" Izzy asked jokingly. This was a good sign, this must mean that she's not at all awkward about last night, maybe she enjoyed it? Maybe she wants to do it again? Although...maybe she can't remember...
"Ha ha, very funny. Get back to cooking me breakfast slave" I replied wittily
"Burnt eggs it is then!"
"Nooo!" I replied. This is great we seem just like normal.
Mikey, Lana, Izzy and I talked about how hungover we were but how last night was fun while Iz and I would steal glances and smirk at each other. Is she flirting with me?
"Izzy will you be able to drop me home soon?" Lana asked. For fuck sake Lana why do you have to take Izzy away from me.
"Yeah just give me half an hour to get my shit together. I'll go get ready now." Izzy replied before starting to pick up the dishes.
"Don't do that" I said holding her arm. "You cooked, it's only fair if we clean."
"Oh I have you well trained Gee." She said petting my wild hair. She left and went down to my room to get ready and Lana excused herself too.
"Have fun with the dishes Mikes!" I said before eagerly following Izzy downstairs. I burst into my room to find Izzy in her bra pulling her jeans up.
"Jesus Gee! You scared the shit out of me!" She said reaching for her top. She didn't seem to fazed by the fact that I just walked in on her half naked.
"Oh sorry Izzy" I said trying to stop myself from looking at her perky boobs, but all I could think about was the fact that I was fondling them last night.
"Do you wanna talk about last night?" She asked now tying her bushy hair into a high ponytail.
"Uh...yeah...if you want to." I said now sitting on the bed. She casually walked over and sat beside me on the bed.
"Look, don't worry about it Gee. We're both attractive, horny , lonely teens that got completely smashed. I'm not gonna let a one off thing like last night affect our friendship. Are you?" I didn't know how to react to this. Apart of me was relieved that she was being so cool about this, she wasn't freaking out at all! But the other part of me was crushed when she said it was just a one off...
"No of course not, I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page...and we are so all's good!"
"Good" She said smiling and putting her arm around my shoulder pulling me into a sideway's hug. The she got up and began packing her bag.
"Um one thing though..."
"What?"
"Do you think we could keep this our little secret?" She asked innocently.
"Yeah no problem...why?"
"You know what the guys are like! They'll make this into a much bigger thing that it is" She said shrugging her shoulders
"Yeah I totally agree."
Then she hugged me goodbye and her and Lana left. I confused now more than ever. I didn't regret what we did, I'll forever cling to that memory, I just wish it meant as much to her as it means to me.

Izzy's POV
I was so fucking glad to get out of Gerard's. I tried to play it as cool as possible but on the inside I was freaking the fuck out! I can't explain how or why we had sex. It just happened. I usually hate people who say 'it just happened' I used to think that was some pathetic excuse for making a huge mistake but now I realise...things can 'just happen.' Although...we were pretty pissed. I have to admit though, i'm not entirely sure it even was a mistake. I regretted it this morning when I woke up in a panic because Gee and I were naked spooning but after our talk and seeing that he was pretty calm about made me feel more at ease. I thought it would have ruined our friendship but it doesn't look like it has. I still wanted to get out of there though just to clear my head. Is it a coincidence that we had sex the night that Lana questions Gerard and I's relationship? Maybe I acted the way I did because she planted the seed in my brain...or maybe it genuinely was just because of the booze and loneliness. It doesn't matter though because it's never going to happen again.

After I dropped Lana off to her house I was running a few errands, as I was driving on the open road I noticed a familiar car pulled over to the side of the road with smoke coming out of the engine. I confirmed it was Frank when I drove past but as I watched him kick his wheel in frustration from my rear view mirror I decided to turn back for him. I pulled in and got out of the car and approached him.
"Hey Frank, do you need some help?" He was leaning over his engine examining it. He looked so sexy when he wiped the sweat and oil off his face with his t-shirt and combed his hair back with his fingers.
"Oh hey Izzy, nah it's okay"
"Are you sure? Where are you headed? I could give you a lift"
"No I really can't accept a lift, it's fine thanks for stopping though"
"Frank. Just get in the car." I had to be strict and blunt with him because he's too polite to accept my offer otherwise. He took one more look at his smoking car before grabbing his jacket and keys from his car and walking towards me. We got in my car and buckled up.
"So where am I taking you?" I asked
"The hospital please"
"The hosp- is everything okay?"
"Yeah, it's just a...check up, you know one of those scan things"
"Oh for the...baby?" I began to tense up. How fucking awkward. His ex-girlfriend is driving him to meet his current pregnant girlfriend.
"Yeah."
"Oh...Is everything developing...well?"
"mmm...it looks like it. We'll know more after today's ultrasound."
"Do you know the sex?"
"Jess wants it to be a 'surprise'"
"Oh, Yeah it'll be nice to have it as a surprise." I said gripping my hold on the steering wheel.
"Pull over" He said
"What? No!"
"'Come on Izzy, this is just weird. I'm sorry it's not fair for you to drive me to this appointment"
"Frank stop it. I offered. So just don't worry about it! So how's everything else with you?" I asked quickly trying to change the topic.
"Oh fucking fantastic. I'm just scraping by in school, I work all day long for minimum wage to afford this kid and 3 months before it's due my hunk of junk car decides to pack it in. So now all the money i've saved for the baby is gonna have to go on my car! Fuck I'm fucked" He ranted while rubbing his temples. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be unloading my shit on you, I'm not your problem...anymore."
"Frank...We may not be together anymore...but it doesn't mean i'm not still here for you. If you ever need to talk or anything...just know that i'll always be right here for you. And Gerard, Mikey and Bob will always be there for you too."
"Thank's Iz...I'm always here for you too...please feel free to come to me if you need me."
"I think you have enough on your plate without my stupid shit..."
"I'll always have space for any shit you're goin through...Are you okay? Are you going through something?"
"No"
"I still know when you're lying you know." I sighed and rolled my eyes to this.
"Fine. I'm just kinda missing my mom a lot right now...Her birthday is this Thursday."
"Oh Izzy I...I don't know what to say"
"It's okay Frank, you really don't have to say anything." Frank extended his hand as if he was going to touch me to comfort me but he pulled away, he probably realised that it would have been inappropriate.
When we pulled up to the hospital Frank thanked me left my car.
"Frank wait!" I called while getting out of the car. He turned on the spot immediately.
"Take my Cooper"
"What? No, I can't"
"Yeah you can. Look you need a car and I have my Rover anyway. It's stupid me having two cars...Take it for as long as you need, until you can afford to fix your car comfortably and being able to afford the baby." I said while throwing him my keys
"Izzy I don't know what to day"
"Thank you is usually a good place to start" I joked, then Frank ran up to me and hugged me tightly, being in his arms again was bittersweet. I hugged him back while taking in his smell of smoke and spearmint. I smell i've missed so much.
"I can't thank you enough Izzy!" He whispered into my ear
"Don't worry about it Frank, now go before you're late!" I said pulling away from our embrace. As Frank jogged into the hospital I felt hopeless. I pulled out my phone and called Gee, it wasn't until he answered that I realised, I had completely forgot that I had slept with him. Shit. I slept with Frank's best friend.
"Miss me already?" Gee asked sarcastically
"You wish! Can you come pick me up?"
"Sure, where are you?"
"The hospital"
"Why are you there? Is everything okay?"
"Yeah everything's fine, I'll just explain when you come get me."
