“Start driving! I swear that I heard that one closer!” Frank said. I tried again but without results. “Come on! Whoever it is, it could be dangerous, humans could be worse than zombies!” Frank said. “I know! I know! But this doesn’t work!” I almost yelled while trying again to start the car. “How many gasoline did you put in?” Frank asked. “I don’t know… do you think we could have run out of it?” I asked. “It could an explanation, but keep trying anyway.” He said. I kept trying but nothing, fuck you car, why the fuck you don’t work now? “Okay, girl. Keep calm and keep trying. It’s just a guy bigger than the both of us, he has two guns, he saw us and he’s coming towards us. But don’t panic, just keep trying.” He said like he was talking about the most normal thing in the world. “What the fuck?” I asked freaking out as I looked at him. Then I heard a familiar voice. “Oh, it’s you Aldryn. I see you have replaced me with this little guy.” Ray said while playing with one of his guns.

“Wait. Was it the guy you spoke about at the beginning? That you have just escaped from him or something like that.” Gerard asked. “Yes. I was with him before, I thought he was my friend, because he treated me very nice. But one day we were walking around the streets searching for something to eat when suddenly a lot of zombies came towards us. Ray used me as a shield and then he threw to them. Gladly I could escape.” I explained to Gerard. “How did you manage to find the worst humans?” He asked with a surprised tone. “I don’t know…” I said and then I continued telling him the story.

“Who the fuck are you?” Frank asked looking at Ray. “I could ask you the same question.” Ray said to Frank. “Yeah, but I asked you first.” Frank replied. “Yeah, but I have two guns.” Ray said copying Frank’s tone. “Okay, I accept that…” Frank muttered. “My name is Pete. Me and this girl are going to a refuge that is only about two kilometres from here.” Frank said, well, lied. That made me question myself if ‘Frank’ was his real name. “Is there really a refuge?” Ray asked and Frank nodded. “And now it’s your turn, who are you?” Frank asked staring at Ray. “It doesn’t matter. Now you two get out of the car and show me the way to the refuge. You won’t go away until I’m there to see if there’s really a refuge.” Ray said while pulling Frank and I out of the car. I looked scared at Frank knowing that the refuge thing was a lie and he winked at me. Then he looked to Ray. “It’s in that direction.” Frank said pointing to the front. “Okay, good boy, Pete.” Ray said. “Hey! I’m not a dog! Don’t talk to me like that!” Frank said annoyed.

“So let me see. Ray calling Frank ‘boy’ annoys him but if he calls you ‘girl’ it is totally okay.” Gerard said. “Yes… That was exactly what I thought in that moment…” I said. “Well, let’s ignore that and continue.” Gerard said. “Okay.” I said and did what he said.

“I will treat you as I want to.” Ray said. I could see in Frank’s look that he was very angry and seemed like he was about explode. But then he sighed and didn’t say anything. Then we three started walking in the direction that Frank have just said. While we were walking Ray looked at me. “So, Aldryn. Why did you left?” Ray asked like nothing was wrong. “Are you really asking that?” I said annoyed. “Yes.” Ray said. “You already know the answer.” I said glaring at him and he laughed. What the fuck is wrong with this guy? Then he looked at Frank. “Pete.” Ray said. “Yeah?” Frank asked. “Is the refuge very far from where we are now?” Ray asked. “No, don’t worry, we are getting closer to it.” Frank answered. “Alright. But listen to me, if there is no refuge, I swear I will kill the both of you, okay?” Ray said. I looked at Frank really scared, because I knew that Ray could kill us without a problem. Frank looked at me and mouthed: “Don’t worry.”
