I'd end my days with you

*2 years later*

“GERARD!” Albert shouted. “Throw those bodies in the incinerator! They are useless right now!” He ordered. “Yes, sir.” I looked at those two lifeless bodies lying on the floor. “Hey, Aldryn, I’m so sorry… I’ve never meant to kill you or Frank, I tried warning you… Oh god…” I sobbed looking at my dead… friend? I picked up Frank’s body and threw in the incinerator. “Bye, dude, we’ve barely talked, but I knew you very well.” I said as the body burned. Then I picked up Aldryn’s body and a paper fell from her pocket. The paper was folded and it said For Gerard. I sat on the floor and opened the paper.

«Dear, Gerard, I bet you probably want to know how the story between Frank and I continues, don’t you? Well, I can’t give you many details because right now you and the people from that place where we met are cursing and yelling behind that door, trying to get in and kill us, I can’t recognize you right now, Gerard… The thing goes like this, we ran away from that place and found Frank’s motorcycle, he remembered that he had driven that before but he still didn’t remember me. We drove until we found an abandoned hotel and established ourselves in a room and guess what. Ray was there, dead on the floor, I don’t know what happened to him but I don’t really care as long as he no longer disturbs me. There I told Frank the whole story about him and I, but he still didn’t remember me. We made ourselves a home there, Frank was happy and I guess me too, but the sadness of my memories with him, he loved me and I lost it just because I let that zombie bit me… Like I told you sometime ago, this is not a novel, he didn't remember anything and I didn’t get my happy ending with the boy I still love. Somehow you guys managed to find us and right now you are behind the room door seeking revenge from escaping, what happens now it’s your choice, Gerard, we can’t fight back, just put an ending to our story. Love always, Aldryn.»

I remember what happened, we finally broke in the room, they were scared and unarmed. They moved as far away as they could. The chip in my brain that Albert had put in me… I couldn’t control myself. I took my gun shot as Albert ordered me. I failed and hit Frank’s leg. Aldryn started crying and hold his hand. “Frank…” She sobbed. “Frank be strong…” She pleaded. Frank looked her in the eyes. “Aldryn, your eyes… you… you truly love me… and I did once… and I still do… I remember everything… I remember how I turned into… you know… I had my teeth showing and the flesh from my mouth was missing because… because I kissed you… I didn’t care if I was going to turn… if you were one of them… so do I…” Frank said as Aldryn started crying even more. They both mouthed ‘I love you’ and when they were about to kiss Albert ordered me to kill them. I shot Aldryn and Frank kiss the dead body of her loved one for the second and last time, and then, I killed him too.

I can’t stand myself, I’m a monster. I ran down the hall opening every prisoner door shouting at them to follow me. They were all scared but they did anyway, we ran to the exit door where once I let Frank and Aldryn free and opened it for everyone to run away. As they all escaped I stayed there, I couldn’t leave. I felt something on my head, it was the chip, Albert knew what I did. “This is for you Aldryn, this is for you…” I whispered and then everything… my life… turned to nothing.
