I'd end my days with you

I was alone now. Everything was dark. I heard footsteps walking away, Frank’s footsteps. I listened carefully to see if I could listen the conversation of Frank and Ray. I heard Ray’s voice but it seemed very far away and I couldn’t understand what he was saying. Some minutes later I heard a very loud sound of something metallic falling down. It was the signal that Frank told me about before. I opened the door and walked out of the closet. Then I walked outside. I looked back for a moment and even if he couldn’t hear me, I whispered the goodbye that I haven’t said earlier. The first guy that seem to care for me leaves me. But, that’s it, that what Frank wanted. I was alone again.

I started walking away following the road, direction to the mountains where Frank said that was a refuge. I wonder if I would see him there. Frank is the most similar to a friend that I have had since all this shit started. But if he thinks the best is that we have to go to separate ways, I’m not going to argue with him. Then I began to feel hungry. Fuck. I’m stupid. I should have pick some food from that mall. I’m sure that Frank and Ray won’t be there anymore. I think I do no bad if I come back just to pick some food. I turned around and started walking back to the mall.

“How could you be that sure that they aren’t going to be there?” Gerard asked me. “The truth is that I wasn’t sure.” I answered. “Then why come back?” He asked. “Because I was hungry, I have said it.” I said. “Yeah, I know, I know… I mean why come back just for food? If Ray was still there, I’m sure he will kill you… wait. It was that. That was how you died, don’t you? Man, I’m fucking clever.” He said. “When you ask their stories to the people that come here, are you allowed to make guesses?” I asked. “Well… no… but I’m better than a the other ones, they are rude and unfriendly.” He said. “Okay…” I muttered. “Well, where am I? Oh yes. That you shouldn’t went there if you wasn’t sure if they were there, that was a little stupid. And you know what they say, ‘stupidity killed the cat’.” He said. “You are the stupid one here. They say ‘curiosity’ not ‘stupidity’.” I said and laughed just to don’t sound rude. “Ops, it’s true. Ignore that and continue with the story.” Gerard said. I nodded and continued talking.

I stared in front of the mall. All was silent. Did that mean they weren’t there? I slowly walked inside trying to make any sound. Everything was still in silent. I started walking towards the right looking to all directions in case they were there. This place seemed alone. I saw some cookies on a shield and went to pick them. I put them inside my bag because I didn't want eat them there, I was very nervous. Then I looked at the floor, there was the jacket that Frank gave me to don't get cold in the night. I walked towards it and picked it up. Then I realized that I wasn't alone, I heard someone laughing behind me.
