I'd end my days with you

“Before going let me check if there are more zombies.” Frank said and walked outside the bushes. Then he pulled me outside. “There’s nothing here, we are alone.” He said. “Yeah, I can see it myself.” I said. “Let’s go towards there.” He said pointing to where there were less trees. We walked in straight line for like about ten minutes until we went out of the forest. “We must search for the road. There would be more possibilites to find a gas station, a motel or somewhere to spend the night.” Frank said. “Yes.” I said and we started walking until we found the road. It was easy because we weren’t very far from it. So we started walking next to the road. “So you are going to leave tomorrow morning, don’t you?” I asked to Frank. “That’s the plan. I like to be alone, plus if I stay with you, you would hinder me.” He answered. “Why I would be a hinder for you?” I asked annoyed. “Because you are very fragile, I’m always saving you.” He said. “The problems started when I knew you. I am not fragile.” I said angrily. Because I am really not fragile. If I was, I would have died many time ago. “Whatever.” He said. “But if you really think that, why did you spend this last days with me?” I asked. “Pity. But the main reason was because you had a car.” He said.

“How could you bear that?” Gerard asked. “I don’t know. Maybe it was because he was the first person that was leaving me without killing me.” I answered. “But he tried a few times to kill you.” He said. “Yeah, he tried. But he didn’t.” I said. “If you are okay with that…” Gerard said with a mix of pity and poker face. The he wrote something on his notebook. “Now, continue.” He said and I did what he said.

“Look. There is an abandoned mall.” I said pointing at the mall next to the road. “Cool. A place to rest and maybe there would be food.” Frank said and started walking towards it, I followed him. Frank slowly opened the door and we walked into the mall trying to make no noise in case there was a zombie. “I would check this side of the mall you that one. If you see a zombie, kill him. Okay?” Frank whispered to me and I nodded. He walked towards his direction and I towards mine. There was no signal of zombies being there at the moment. But I was sure that there had been because of the blood on the floor. Anyway, I continued looking in case there was a silent zombie, thing that I doubt. Suddenly a girl with blood on her face and hand appeared from nowhere and stood in front of me. “This is my territory! Get out! Get out! My territory! Mine! Out! Out!” She yelled with an insane look on her face putting a knife near my face. I wanted to kill her but I wasn’t strong enough to kill another human. But then I heard a shot and blood began to spill out of the girl’s head, then she fell down, dead. I looked behind me and saw Frank holding his gun. “You need to learn to kill humans, otherwise you won’t survive when I’m gone tomorrow.” Frank said. I didn’t answer.

“Apart from that girl, I think there’s no one else in this place.” Frank said. “Yes, I didn’t see anyone else.” I said. “There are some blankets, we can sleep there.” Frank said pointing behind him. We walked towards them and laid down there. Then he gave me a jacket. “I have found this. Now you won’t get a cold tonight.” He explained. “Frank.” I said. “Yeah, girl?” He asked. “What is wrong with you?” I asked. “Mmm… what do you mean?” He asked. “You are most of the time saying that you would kill and that you would leave me alone tomorrow, acting like you don’t care about me, but you do, I can see it. So stop faking it, okay? But also, if you care about me, why would you leave?” I said. “I don’t care about you.” He said. “Yes, you do. Stop faking.” I said. “I’m not faking anything.” He said. “If that’s true, kill me now.” I said staring at him. He pulled out his gun and put it to my head. He stared at me for a few seconds and then moved the gun away. “See? You are faking.” I said. “I am not faking that I don’t care about you, I’m just trying to convince myself that I don’t.” He said. “Why?” I asked confused. “You don’t want to know.” He said. “Yes I do. That’s why I am asking.” I said. He glared at me. “You are not leaving until I know it.” I said. “Because everyone I cared about, end up bad. My father left my mum because of me, my best friend got killed by a thief in front of me and I was too sacred to do anything, I left Jamia alone and she got turned into one of those horrible creatures… You will be better without me.” He said. I just stared at him, I had no words, he blamed himself of that things and now he wants to leave alone because he thinks I would end up bad because of him… I thought he hated me. “Goodnight.” Frank said and closed his eyes.
