I looked around the room where I was. Then I looked at my hands moving them slowly, I could control my body again! The room walls were white. I was sitting on a chair and in front of me there was a guy looking at me. He had brown hair, hazel eyes and was a little bit too pale. “Where am I?” I asked. “You are now safe in our refuge. We found the way to make zombies human again, and that’s what we did with you, you are a human again.” The guy said. That would explain why I could control my body now. “I need to ask you a few questions.” He said. “What’s your name?” He asked. “Aldryn.” “Alright, Aldryn, how old are you?” He asked. “25.” I answered. “Okay. Now, please tell me how you turned into a zombie.” He ordered. “Whole story?” I asked and he nodded. “Okay… but I would feel more comfortable if I knew your name.” I said. “Gerard. Now tell me.” He said as he opened a notebook. “Okay. Well…

I have just escaped from Ray like one week ago. He pretended to be my friend just for using me to feed those creatures in case he was in trouble. Fucking bastard. I was walking down a zombie-free street. Thankful for that. But I wasn’t sure what scared me the most, zombies or humans. All humans I've met, since zombies appeared from nowhere, were all assholes and dangerous as fuck.

I kept walking until I turned around a corner and a guy appeared in front of me. He had black hair, piercings and a lot of tattoos. There was a scratch on his face and his look was evil, kinda scary. I quickly grabbed my gun and put it to his head. “Don’t move or I will kill you.” I said while he kept his look on me. Then he smirked. “Are you sure you want to do that?” He asked. “Don’t talk! Don’t move! I swear I would pull the trigger if you don’t do what I say.” I shouted. “If you kill me, I would turn into a zombie right in front of you. I’m much stronger than you, so if I turn into a zombie I would definitely kill you.” He said.

I didn't know what to do. So I thought of a plan. "You are going to the opposite direction to me, don't you?" I said. He didn't answer, he just kept his scary look on me. "Well, we would turn while I keep pointing at you with my gun to your head and we will continue our ways without any of us getting hurt." I said. "How do I know that you wouldn't kill me when we are separated from each other?" The guy asked. "I promise I won't." I said. Without saying anything he started rotating and so did I. He walked towards his way and I ran towards mine trying to get as far as possible from that guy.

"You could have killed him when you had that gun to his head. If you kill someone shooting his head, it would not turn into a zombie. He messed with you." Gerard said. "I know, but in that moment I was scared and couldn't think right." I said.

I kept walking thinking of what just happened and that's when I realized that I could have killed him, he wouldn't have turned into a zombie. Fuck. I'm the stupidest girl alive. I was so into my thoughts that I didn't know that near me was walking a lonely zombie.

I realized it was there when it was too late. I started running even knowing that it would catch me. I was so nervous that I fell to the ground. The zombie was getting close to me, it was my end. But suddenly I heard a shoot and the zombie fell to the ground. I looked around and saw the guy from earlier coming towards me. He put his gun to my head just like I did before. "Oh, look who's here." He said with an evil smirk. "Give me a reason for not killing you now."

"He didn't kill you, either way you wouldn't be a zombie when we found you." Gerard said. "No, he didn't." I said. "Why?" Gerard asked confused.
