Party Poison
Hello Again
Just then, the early bell for second period rang. As Gerard and I merrily waltzed out of the girl's bathroom we received some odd looks. "Don't pay them no mind, sugar." Gee said. Robin nodded, happy to comply. They walked down the hallways closely so, as not to get separated in the sea of passing sudents, or did they? Gerard started a conversation on their journey to Chemistry. "So, recently I have started listening to this really cool band, 'Iron Maiden'." he said excitedly. "Have you heard of 'em?" he asked hopefully.
"Of course I have!" she enthused. "They're one of my all time favorites." "Wow," he thought dreamily "this chick keeps getting better and better." "Really?!" he said with joy. "Yeah, I have all their records." "Do you like Nirvana?" Robin asked. "Mhm, one of my favorite songs by them is 'Teen Spirit'." he replied coolly. "I've been listening to 'Heart Shaped Box' on repeat for the last week." she countered. They turned one final corner; now the Chemistry Room became visible. They chatted as they passed through the doorway. The late bell rang when they entered; it was almost like it was signaling their arrival.
Just then, a girl with long, shimmering blonde hair and brown eyes stared at Gerard and Robin. If looks could kill, they would both be dead ten times over. She squinched her eyes together tightly. The blonde whispered something into another girl's ear. They both giggled evily, as if it was the single most funny thing they had ever heard. "Hey..." Robin thought "that must be the girl from earlier. That b**** who called me a 'teacher's pet'." "So, do you like them too?" Gerard broke into her thoughts as they sat down at an empty two-seated desk.
"Oh, sorry. What did you say?" she asked apologetically. "It's alright." he shrugged as if to say "hey, what can ya' do?" "Do you like 'The Strokes'?" he asked. "Yeah..." she said with a distracted look. "What is it, Robin?" "Oh nothing. It's just these two girls. One was looking at me like she wanted to rip my heart out, and the other was giggling with the other, pointing at me. I remember the blonde, she taunted me earlier, saying 'teacher's pet'." she said with more focus, but she sounded exasperated. Gerard scanned the Chemistry Room, looking for the two girls. His eyes landed on two snickering girls in the front.
"S***!" he exclaimed rather loudly. There was a slight lull in nearby converaations. People stared at him for a bit, including the two girls in front. The blonde and her partner in crime who, had long brown hair and green eyes, plastered fake smiles on their faces and waved flirtatiously while giggling. Speaking of faces, theirs were adorned with generous helpings of cosmetics; they may have been pretty on their own, but with all the unneeded makeup, no one could know. What?" she asked with a quizzical expression. "I used to date the blonde, her name's Courtney." he said, he had a look on his face that said he was beating himself up mentally.
"You did?" she asked. "Yeah." he sighed. "My friends at my old school dared me to do it last year. I guess she moved here too." he explained. "They bet me forty bucks that I couldn't date her for two weeks. I only did it because my mom's job was terminated and Mikey, my mom, and I were running out of food. I was determined to provide for us. My mom said I couldn't get a job yet because it would interfere with my grades so, when my friends were talking about the bet, I snatched up the oppurtunity." he finished. "What a noble thing to do, Gee." she assured. "Thanks." he half smiled.
"I was surprised she wanted to go out with me at all. I wasn't exactly the most popular kid on school campus. I broke up with her after the two weeks were up, glad to get rid of her. She practically toted around me like a Chihuahua, and she was forever telling me what to do. Maybe she still has hard feelings about it." he said. "Well that's quite the story you have there." Robin added kindly. "I guess so." he smiled at her. Finally, the chemistry teacher Mr.Nordstrom entered the room.
"Sorry about the wait everyone." he said as he entered. "I'm sure you're all terribly sad about missing the first part of class." The class chuckled after he spoke; he was known as one of the cool teachers on campus. The class began the lesson on cell reproduction promptly. After a bit of time had passed, a note was passed back to Gerard. Gee unfolded the note. It read: "Hey, Geebear. Just call me when you want me back." It was signed "Courtney" in big swooping letters. A blood red kiss mark was on the word "Geebear", and a phone number was listed underneath the signature.
