Party Poison

English Class

Gerard and Robin conversed as they walked to English, their next class. They settled in at a table in the back, furthest from the classroom door that students spilled in from messily. Just then, Robin spotted Maya and Alice at the entrance. She mentally communicated to any higher power, if there should be one, that she hoped they didn't sit with her and Gee.

As if they read her mind, Maya and Alice approached her. "Hey, Party Poison. Who's this?" Maya inquired snarkily as she and Alice sat down at their table."Gerard, I met him earlier today."she replied hesitantly. "Hey." he said as he waved at Maya and Alice in a friendly manner. "Hi." Alice greeted happily; Maya just glared at him. Robin thought that this must have been because of what Courtney had said earlier at lunch; she wondered if their was any further discussion of Gerard once she left.

The teacher abruptly said "Okay class, today you will be working on a two-page essay about the meaning of life." The class responded to this announcement with a displeased roar like groan. "And," she added "when I say two pages I mean front AND back." she stressed. This comment received yet another simultaneous groan from the class. "Chop, chop, my little minions." she said jokingly. As the class begrudgingly began to work, Gerard asked Robin quizzically "Why'd they call you 'Party Poison'?"

"Oh," Maya chimed in "that's because she's always been such a killjoy; she's a downer." Gee's mouth turned downwards. "My nickname is 'Accidental Ash' and Maya's is ' Mirrored Mystique'. We came up with them in sixth grade." Alice explained. "Cool."he said lacking enthusiasm. "Well, I guess we better get to work." Robin said, noting the time. Twenty minutes later, Gerard interrupted Robin's furious scribbling.

"What are you writing about?" Gee whispered. "You just want help on your paper, don't you?" she chided lightly. "No, I genuinely want to know." Gee assured her with a sweet smile. "Well, so far I have talked about the dark matter that led to the universe's creation, evolution, humans' dominance over animals, jobs and schooling being busywork, pollution, overcrowding, starvation, and psychology." "Wow..." Gee uttered in awe. "Yeah," Robin giggled "it might be a bit to take in. Those are some of the many things that plague my mind from time to time."

"I wrote about how you shouldn't take your loved ones for granted, seize the day, do what you love, and leave a mark on the world before you must part." Gerard informed her. "My, how eloquently put, my good sir." she complimented in a false British accent. At this Gee began to chuckle heartily, as all good British sirs should; Robin proceeded to join him in the jolly good fun. The teacher eyed them warily due to their odd laughter. They got back to writing; luckily, the remainder of the period flew by.

At the end of class, Gerard spoke to Robin. "My friends and I were gonna' hang out at my house; wanna' come?" he inquired. "Sure," she said. "I just have to check with my mom." "Great." he grinned. "I could walk you home to ask." he suggested. "Okay." she smiled. "I live on Arrow Street." Cool, I do too! I'll meet you by the front doors at 2:30." Okay, see ya' then." "See ya'." Robin and Gerard both eagerly awaited the end of the school day.

Notes

I am SO sorry about not writing for over two weeks. Sometimes I like to do one specific thing, usually crearive, a lot for a bit then, switch; it's kinda' weird.

@One-Uncommon-Killjoy
I was asking because I had lost my mysterious plot; I say mysterious because I didn't plot it out, and had and have no idea where I'm going. I have not worked on the story for about two months, and was wondering if this creative outlet would be one to keep in my available arsonal. Also, I have previously viewed others use this method of gauging their viewing audience's pleasure or displeasure with their work. To all, thank you for caring!XD
