My Honest Observation

I met this girl today. She's a new face to the school and she's quite the act. I think she's perfect in every way. We're going to lunch! I stop outside the diner, "I have to tell you something…" I say to her. My heart stops. I don't have a thing to tell her besides that her beauty cannot be beat, her eyes sparkle brighter than dead stars and her voice is like Jesus singing, but no, I don't say any of that. Lauren looks really petrified with the possibilities of what I could say. "I'm just kidding, I don't need to tell you anything yet." Let's go inside." I smile. I walk Lauren in and we sit down. I turn to Lauren, "what would you like?" Lauren shook her head. "Nothing, thanks, I had a huge breakfast." She explains to me. I nod. "I'll probably just get some pizza or something." She smiles. Oh her smile. It's so perfect. A waiter comes and I order politely. I hear Lauren's phone go off and she checks it.
(Lauren POV)
Matt: Hey bitch, where are you?!
Oh god. Matt. We dated a few years back when I lived here. I can not tell anyone that he knows I'm here.
Me: I'm out for lunch…
Matt: Oh, so you're finally eating? You weren't satisfied with what I fed you?
Me: no. Never. Please leave me alone.
Matt: you'll never get rid of me again. Meet me at Richland park tonight at 8.
i quickly put my phone to a restless sleep. I look back up at Ray who was staring at me. "Is everything alright?" I nod and smile.
(Ray POV.)
Lauren looked quite baffled and scared as she read. I slowly finish my pizza as Lauren acknowledged me again. Her expression softened at the sight of me. I like that. I pay the tab and Lauren suggests we leave so we can get back to class on time. We leave the diner and we throw out our coffee and tea on the way out. I reach down and I gently take Lauren's hand in mine to lead the way, I told her it was just for direction. Only that. It's much more than what I've ever felt before.
