Playing With Fire

chapter 7

"Frank! Gerard! Pack your goddamn bags we're going up north!" I groggily turned over to still napping Gerard. I nugged him awake and annoyedly told him that we're leaving soon to go up north. He seemed quite excited to go, being it was his first time, but it was practically shit to me now. I couldn't help to wonder why she didn't plan this ahead of time.
Me and Gerard quickly threw changes of clothes and other random shit in our bags and threw them in the trunk. I had all my stuff braced for the four hour drive. Of corse, me and Gee had to sit in the back of my grandpa's van, my mom was going too.
I pretty much slept the whole way, until Gerard excitedly nudged me awake as we arrived. I chucked at his pure excitement.
"Frank! Get your fucking license and go ride the boat or someshit while we unpack. Bring the smelly fucking Way kid with you too!" I let off a slight chuckle at my mom. She never meant what she said ever. To my family now, it was just humor.
I made sure Gerard followed as I climbed aboard our little boat. He took the seat next to me, gently holding my hand as I started up the damn thing. I rode with him next to me, all in silence. I knew where I was going.
"Gee, this is the rope swing," I announced as we pulled up to the shady old tree with a noose-looking rope attached. "And no, this is not a hanging. Follow me!" I threw off my shirt and tossed it into the boat before playfully running ip the hill. I climbed up the ragged old steps to the Jumping Ledge and motioned for Gerard to toss me the rope. He jumped in the water and grabbed the mossy rope and tossed it with all he could. It just barely made it into my hands. I wrapped my fists gently around the rope before forcefully pushing myself off the ledge. I brought my knees up to my chest and flew through the air, smiling at Gerard as he watched in excitement. Once I had reached the swings peak, I released my grip, quickly plunging into the lale water beneath me. I peaked my head up a couple seconds later, seeing Gerard already on the leadge, anxious for the rope. I quickly swam over and grabbed the rope, throwing it to him and climbing to shore. I ran up to the ledge, wrapping my arms around him to stall him. He looked at me and giggled, releasing some tension from his grip.
"When you jump, make sure you bring your knees up yo your chest. Otherwise you'll fuck up and probably die from hitting the water too hard." Gerards eyes widened like a child who's mother told them that santa wasn't real. "I'm kidding. But it will hurt. And when you get to the swing peak, let go but don't move your legs or anything." He nodded in understanding and focused his attention back to the rope and the lake. I jumped off the side of the ledge and found a seat on a rock where I watched. I smiled at him, and he smiled back in nervousness, fixing his grip on the rope and jumping. He screamed as he swung, letting go in fear just as the rope began dragging him threw the air. He solidly hit the lake shors, barely touching any water. I giggled and ran over to his limp body, helping him up. He groaned as I lifted his body off the sandy, nasty shore. I giggled and brought him over to the rock that I was sitting on, and layed hin limply on my lap. I let my arm support his back, my other arm caress his jaw. He smiled back in embarrassment. I slowly lowered my head to his, gently kissing his lips. After a couple seconds, I pulled away, carrying him back to the boat. I set him in the seat beside me and started the boat. I turned up the radio which began blasting Carry On Wayward Son, which I turned up louder and blasted so that probs the whole lake could hear. (Heh. Alisia bby). I didn't really know where I was going now, I just liked the idea of driving off into the sunset with Gerard blasting Carry On Wayward Son. After the song was over I turned down the radio and slightly gripped Gerards hand. I decided I'd ride us down to the ice cream shop they hsd on the lake. Once I got there, I slipped on a pair of sandals and loosly tied up the boat. I walked inside the small shop, ordering both me and Gerard a small vanilla cone. After paying, I lead him back to the boat, untying it and leading us back in the sunset.
